Just that really, tad too early me thinks....by about 2 months at least!

I know there are bigger issues out there at the moment....failure of COVID testing system, asylum seekers being demonised, wild fires.....I could go on, but really...... do not dress up a Percy Pig in a Santa hat in September!

It's begun! Haven't even had Halloween yet and body shop has got their advent calendars out. Probably have sales before Christmas day. I usually end up getting everything on Christmas Eve and picking up lots of bargains.

Hmm. I'm not sure why people are so surprised? Christmas foods come out in September every year don't they? Seem to read this posts everywhere year. I'm not disagreeing it's early but it's the norm. In fact some shops seems to be late advertising their Halloween and Christmas goods this year!!

Also, you will be surprised how many people are buying earlier because of their covid worries! Who knows what this autumn will bring! 🤷‍♀️

Christmas stuff is always out around now. Some people moan, some people love it. I love Christmas but tend to start thinking about it more towards the end of November /early December.

This year though, what with local lockdowns and general problems with isolating and not being with families. I can see why planning may take place earlier.

They are very late with the Halloween stuff though, no sign of that

Ours put the halloween stuff out first week in September.

Those people who can't do all their present and food shopping in one go will appreciate this. 2-3 pay days would be helpful.

Why do we get posts like this every September? I used to work for a supermarket and the Christmas stuff would be put out every September and people would moan every September that it was getting earlier. It's always in September.

Yabu! I've finished most of my Christmas shopping for my DC, I've been mentally planning Christmas for weeks, it's what's getting me through!

I'm in a local lockdown area and there's no chance we're coming out any time soon. We're very fortunate that DH has been able to work the whole way through this shitshow (albeit in a dangerous and covid unsafe environment!) so being able to focus on having something to look forward to has been lovely! I smiled when I saw all the Christmas stuff in B&M yesterday! 🎅

Well that's on them *@Thisismytimetoshine if they don't check dates.

You didn't spot the Navy blue rectangular cushion with buildings on it in stock did you?

Due to the bleakness of the pandemic a lot of people are coping by looking forward to traditional Christmas and autumn, I noticed the trend colours for autumn are very traditional natural hues of orange and brown, tradition is a good thing to cling to during hard times and companies know this, they're trying to recoup from losses of summer holiday sales

Hit send too early, radio one played a Christmas song today, then I saw it so only 100 days.

There is no escape from now on in...

Not this year. This year has just been a miserable shit show. Looking at Xmas crap is what gets me through right now. No holidays, can't visit newborn nephew, DS's beloved sports club has had to shut. Nothing else to look forward to.

I absolutely love the Christmas season. Dont really xare about the day because its never as good as I hope its going to be, but I agree, its too early. I'll start thinking about it on the 9th of November when we go to center parks (it will be winter wonderland by then) thats still a bit too early for me, but we had to go early this year.

Does anyone know when M&S are starting the Xmas Food ordering? I'm thinking it's going to be in very high demand this year as lots of people who normally eat Xmas Lunch out won't want to risk booking and having it cancelled, so want to get my order in early before loads of things are sold out (the desserts always go out of stock quickly anyway). Have tried googling the date but no luck!

(Answer - you can not )

People need something to look forward to.

I always get excited about Christmas early on then get festive fatigue by November. I peak too soon.

DH brought home hot cross buns from Sainsbury’s today. I can have one after I’ve pulled a Christmas cracker he tells me.

Its been like it for years though - I always used to go and look at the Christmas department in John Lewis with my mum before going back to uni around 20th September, and that was the early 90s.

YABU many people are getting their shopping done early in case of lockdowns etc and to avoid lots of shopping trips in winter when cases are rising along with all the other bugs.

Shops are trying to get as much out as possible to try and make some money after the losses they suffered at Easter due to lockdowns.
