i mean yadda yadda fertile imagination blah creative blah just play and all that but flipping heck its irritating the socks off me. Its like having another child without the sex first.

and if DS tells me I can't "sit there because thats where Peter is" one more time I swear I'll throw the imaginary blighter out the door so fast his feet won't touch the ground.

Marina - you have my sincere sympathy. I hope baby Ruby leaves SOON!

As a slight hikack - have any of the Gondal- mentioners read a fab children's book caller Peter's Room?

Love this thread.

I also find myself laying a place at the table for dd's imaginary friend who is called "Dilly Finnan". It's always when we're running late of course, grrr ....

Have to laugh though because a couple of weeks ago, Dilly went on an aeroplane to see "her clients". Today Dilly had a baby (called Sarah) at the hospital. I'm worried what she's going to get up to next frankly ...

seeker - what an intriguing but rather grown-up sounding book (have had a look on Amazon). Bridge to Terebithia (as Disneyfied recently) is a similar idea in cosier execution.

We ahve Naney, Saney and Taney in this house and occasional visits from Stephanie and Hurkle! Naney is very naughty and I hear dd telling her off in my voice if I'm not within eyeshot. Very cute...

any book by Antonia Forest has to be worth a look, although as my ds is roughly the same age as bink's, I think we'll go for Bridge to Terabithia first too

I didn't mean Peter's Room for the children - it would be wasted on children! I meant for you Gondalling people! It a regular re-read of mine - but I think children must have been much cleverer in those days - my bookish 11 year old managed about a chapter!

DD friends are not specific but she talks and talks to them endlessly...for hours

For a while we had Soren Lorensen in our house!!!

Hmmmm - nobody seen drop dead fred then? They are NOT imaginary, they are reeeeeaaaaal! And there were you lot blaming your kids for the naughties tut tut

I didnt have any imaginary friends and now feel like i missed out - can I have one now I wonder?

My littley seems to have lost his first one, Jim the Giant Hand, but still has Baby Bum (occasionally) and his (BB's) pet giant bid Arthur. When I asked him what Jim the Giant hand looked like, he just looked at me and said "a giant hand" in that patient way that 2 year olds have when talking to stupid adults! I'll miss them when they disappear for good

I love Drop Dead Fred.

DD had a blue man and a blue lady from when she was about 8m. Her speech wasn't that comprehensible so I'm not sure what they did or said, but she liked them so I wasn't worried. They didn't eat (not our food anyway) and didn't require space in the car or anywhere else for that matter. Nowadays, the cats get the blame for everything!

This is great! DS1 (nearly 4) has IF 'Miin' who has no skin because it burnt off , but then a doctor fixed it... 'Miin' comes from space, his eyes light up, and he has recently been revealed to be a transformer. His mother is made of chocolate and lives in a house called 'Chocolate Penny'. 'Miin' regularly sleeps over (transforming into a bed), sometimes comes for dinner and tonight sat on top of the car roof as we drove home from granma's. Fortunately he is very talented with magic powers and does not seem to be a bad influence. Can't wait for the next installment..

A friend's DD2 had an IF called 'Foxy Loxy' who did a poo on the hall carpet, if I remember correctly, so feel we have got away lightly - so far...

Love all the whales!!
