Who has a bonfire on a warm day?

Currently 23C here, forecast to be 27C. All my windows open on what is a balmy, sunny morning.

Someone in my local area has decided to burn garden waste, they did the same yesterday afternoon and then lit another bonfire at 11pm!

What the hell is wrong with people?

I’m with you OP. I find it so selfish that others think it’s ok to inflict toxic smoke on others just because they can’t be arsed to go to the dump.

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 15/09/2020 10:22

An utter twat, as indeed on any other day.

DaphneFanshaw · 15/09/2020 10:23

Only a cunt would do such a thing.

AriettyHomily · 15/09/2020 10:24

My fucking next door neighbour. Dick.

Funkypolar · 15/09/2020 10:25

Thick grey smoke too!

So many problems with bonfires here, one household went through a phase of having an acrid smelling bonfire every day for two weeks, a group of us contacted environmental health and it stopped.

Do you live near me?
Some wanker was burning rubbish every.fucking.day during the heatwave in the summer - including bin day🤦🏻‍♀️
You can't report them unless you know exactly which house it is - I don't, it's one of two with long, adjoining, overgrown gardens.

DaphneFanshaw · 15/09/2020 10:27

I am usually very relaxed about environmental and neighbour issues. I am not ot all that bothered about paries, smoking weed in gardens etc.
Smokey bonfires are so so invasive though. I reported my neighbour in lockdown for his continuous bonfires.
We did try and have a normal conversation first but he threatened to punch us all in the faces.
If it does become a nuisance it might be worthwhile checking out what the local laws / rules/ guidelines are around smokey bonfires

My neighbour has a fire pit. All the rage here. Starts it up 5-6 nights out of 7 no matter the weather. I have someone with severe lung issues I my house. This situation has already put them in hospital via ambulance. We can't enjoy our backyard or have our windows open.

Luckily they have their house on the market so next owners might be more considerate. Sadly the house is taking a long time to sell!

Bottom line, I feel your pain.
