TinyGang · 08/10/2007 14:34

TwigorTreat · 08/10/2007 14:34

He's traded in his Tardis for a campervan.

TaLcsFromTheCrypt · 08/10/2007 14:39

Imagine Tom Baker sitting next to you ,squonk,
then shouting very loudly in your ear..

Paddlechick666 · 08/10/2007 14:53

watch out if you ask for a quote, they will email you forever and ever with all their latest offers and discounts.

btw, didn't realise characters from Harry Potter rented motorhomes!

Vikkin · 08/10/2007 15:00

Aha, a VW camper. My business restores classic campers (but we don't hire unf).
Try Kombi Kampers in Wareham Dorset if that area might be appropriate - they have some lovely ones and only do VW Campers.
Remember to do the wave as you pass others!

CountessDracula · 08/10/2007 16:39

ooh vikkin I would so love to buy one! How much do they go for?

I thought if I hired one in the summer would convince dh...

We always had them when I was growing up, I learnt to drive in one (boyfriend at the time had a splittie) and I have always hankered after one.

Countess, you would need to flog the Count to afford a splittie these days. You are talking about around £12-15,000. You should've kept the splittie when you splittied! We have a split, a bay, an 'ordinary beetle', a racing beetle and a 1954 Oval beetle. Dh has his first VW at 15, and could not contemplate a life (or a job) without the blooming things.
If your dh is not an enthusiast, make sure the one you hire has the following: electric hookup, large awning, gas BBQ, Propex heating, portipotti for wees in the night. They are a bit of an acquired taste.
