To think that if someone has coronavirus symptoms they should be able to get a test?

First time poster and resorting to mumsnet in sheer frustration at our situation. After one week back at school my DD (7yrs) developed a cough, high temperature and kept feeling sick over the weekend. I've been trying to book a test for the last two days but the website says there are no tests in my area and no home testing kits available. I've been refreshing the bloody thing all day and no change. I particularly like the message on the website that tells you not to call the helpline as they won't be able to help! AIBU to wonder how on earth we beat this virus when it is impossible to get a test?

DD is desperate to get back to school but I'll have to keep her off for 10 days in isolation if I can't get a test. For what it's worth she also has a sore throat, blocked nose and is sneezing a lot so I'm pretty sure she has a cold and not Covid.
