Phone addiction

So I feel like this is an AA meeting.

I need to stop being on my phone so much.

During the summer holidays when I was busy with the kids I was 5 hours a day.

Yesterday was a busy day but I still managed 6 hours! FYI I can get up like 630 and spend til 715 on my phone waiting for kids to get up.

My return to work on reduced hours - so I really should be working hard in that time. But I'm really good at my job. I'm very quick so I can get things done quicker than others - I also work smart. So like now I'm on my phone on Mumsnet!

I go to sleep at around midnight so sometimes I can spent from 8pm- 1130 aimlessly scrolling.

I do use phone for admin/food shop/banking etc

But that isn't 5 hours a day.

AiBu to ask you your tips for using your phone less?

I use mine sometimes 8 hours a day. Guessing that's pretty bad!

I research things. Menopause options. Is there an alternative to a certain menopause medication.

School announces possible mixed ability, rather than sets, for maths. I'm cross. I investigate pros and cons. Takes hours.

I've decided I'm going to delete Instagram, facebook and then disable safari app too so I can't browse MN and other sites which steal my time. Try and last October doing that. Desperate measures.

I'm the same op. I started watching the social dilemma last night and I actually uninstalled some apps on my phone during it.

I kind if want to go backwards and just go back to a basic phone etc

I think one major good thought for me to switch off or reduce time is to ask myself "what am I really missing?". Think about the last time you were on FB and what you saw on there and what was actually meaningful and what was just bollocks. I bet 99% was just shite. And everyone does it so they all post photos and stuff of the best bits of their life.

None of it is real.
