Mumsnet Swears By Patio Heaters .

Is it just me who thinks that mumsnet should not be encouraging the use of patio heaters? They are terrible for the environment, I'm astonished they're on Swears By. What about a hot water bottle & hot toddy instead?

Dunno. They promote clothes all the time and they're not always great for the environment. While Covid has meant we're all flying less and stuff sadly so much of the other stuff is disposable crap and bad for the environment - offices getting rid of cups and glasses and just using disposable stuff, same with restaurants, no using your own cup or bottle at Costa, plastic masks, wipes...

I can understand why they are doing that at Costa although I don't agree with it but mumsnet promote patio heaters is solely about profit and not protecting customers.

Mumsnet promoting patio heaters is about profit but them promoting boots, trousers, and an apple corer thing isn't? Mumnet is a business and people want patio heaters.

Being a business doesn't absolve them of all responsibility, there is such a thing as corporate responsibility. The people who want patio heaters will go and buy them, others might be convinced they need one by mumsnet and that's what is irresponsible. Trousers and apple corers don't have the same environmental impact.
