NATIONWIDE - anyone an underwriter?

jwills · 13/09/2020 18:31

Mortgage advisor has put the wrong ‘declared address’ on our application.

Will we need to start all over again? Nationwide asking for proof of address from wrong declared address which we obviously can’t give.

Losing the will to live with it all! 2 months later!

I'm sorry I have no help for you but wanted to give sympathy as we are currently waiting for our mortgage approval from Nationwide - it's been weeks longer than stated and every week they tell us "it'll be next week" Angry hope you get sorted out soon!

jwills · 13/09/2020 18:54

@greythrow thank you! They are just awful. We’ve had it escalated. It’s been a nightmare from the start and now this! Good luck with yours!

Your broker should just be able to make an amendment as it was their error, however nationwide are running to 17 day service levels at the moment, meaning if it’s done tomorrow if won’t be looked at until 7th October. I feel for you, it’s a painful process, and all lenders are struggling a bit at the moment with the sheer volume of applications.

jwills · 13/09/2020 20:42

@2ndAugust thank you!

Can he make the amendment over the phone or should he submit it in writing?

Wow my mortgage with them was really smooth, we just changed deal and it took 5 minutes!

AldiAisleofCrap · 13/09/2020 23:00

@BashfulClam were you remortgaging with nationwide having already had a mortgage with them? Just wondering if you need to do a new credit check, look at accounts etc?

CoronaIsWatching · 13/09/2020 23:01

I'm an underwriter with a different bank, he will just have to update it with them and they'll run a new credit check

GatOrHeet · 13/09/2020 23:04

No you shouldn't have to start again. I work in conveyancing and we often get mortgage offers come through with wrong addresses, clients names spelt wrong etc etc. These types of things, you should just be able to get amended. Speak to your broker.

BashfulClam · 13/09/2020 23:05

@AldiAisleofCrap yes, we just went online and selected current customers picked our deal and that was it. Got an e-mail saying ‘done’ we didn’t need to provide any more info.

AldiAisleofCrap · 13/09/2020 23:17

@BashfulClam phew that’s a relief was a bit stressful when when we bought our home and our fix is ending next year.
Hope you get yours sorted ASAP @jwills

BashfulClam · 13/09/2020 23:20

@AldiAisleofCrap we’re now on 5 years fixed and will save £100+ a year but we just gave them our account details and it was done.

AldiAisleofCrap · 14/09/2020 00:20

Five year fix is what we are looking for also, we only fixed for three years when we got the mortgage.

2ndAugust · 14/09/2020 07:09

To change deal with the same lender is the quickest and easiest thing you can do, usually does not involve a credit check. @AldiAisleofCrap

2ndAugust · 14/09/2020 07:11

@jwills her may have to send in a form, best he calls first and they will tell him what they require. If differs from lender to lender.

AldiAisleofCrap · 14/09/2020 20:06

Thanks @2ndAugust

jwills · 14/09/2020 21:55
