To despise what Football Manager does to my partner?

I hate it. The constant clicking on his Mac, how noisy the fan is when he's "playing a match," and the theatrical groans which make me assume that something bad has happened in real life, and which then turn out to be him conceding to West Ham in the last minute.

I hate the way the Mac has to be transported round the house with him like a life support machine, and I hate the way "just give me a minute" in Gamer Time is about forty minutes in real life. I hate how utterly unproductive it makes him.

I suspect lockdown has exacerbated these feelings.

Best game ever, been playing it in one form or another since 1997 although I limit my playing time to a couple of hours a weekend these days. Blush

I haven't played it but FM Touch is a very slimmed down version of the game for a Switch or iPad and doesn't require as much attention so that could be worth looking at.

It caused my brother to smash a massive hole in his wall once.

Couldn't agree more. The constant attachment to the laptop annoyed me so much I ended up getting him a tablet. The benefit is now that he can play it on his commute to work, rather than at home. Still doesn't shop the constant groaning and commentary that I have to listen to!
