Adult DS wants me to wash his cap?

I went to DS's place, and mentioned one of the threads I'd seen with superb puns, ''Fishy Willy'' {12th Sept}
He was surprised at the discussion and liked the puns, and then said as an aside..

' Would you be able to wash my cap in bio tex, please ?'

I said I'd Put it to Mumsnet ...And see what the good women on here say..Just for fun.

DS then said {re washing caps}

'' That's what mums are for ''
Boom!

So....Do I soak the slightly sweat marked cap in Bio Tex, and dry it so it keeps it's shape, or do I give the bio tex to him?

I do have some sympathy with this predicament. My own adult DS asked if I could wash his cape.

Well, I didn't even know he had one! But apparently he does and it got mucky in a phone booth, of all places.

I told him to go take a flying leap.

And he did!

I'm scared.

Just a tip but caps can turn out ok if you ( or he) put them in the dishwasher

NancyPickford · 13/09/2020 19:37

@Feetonthebeads* - you have never heard of a cap before? Baseball cap, flat cap, peaked cap, ......

SamanthaJayne4 · 13/09/2020 22:41

I just wash caps (baseball) in the washing machine. They come out fine.

"Ok so the OP was making a foreskin joke?

I can’t believe an adult msn would ask his mum to wash his dick though"

Huh..?

Yeahnahmum · 14/09/2020 02:30

Adult son living at home: perhaps. Depends on mood or the way he asked
Adult son living in his own place : hell no

All these pp's pretending to have never heard of a cap 🤔seriously. ..

I feel like I’ve just wandered into the Twilight Zone. Am going to turn around and close the door behind me. Whilst pondering why it always seem to be men who want help with washing stuff - and their mums always oblige.

Nuts!

BusterGonad · 14/09/2020 04:20

Weird thread, especially as you can just stick caps in the washing machine.

BusterGonad · 14/09/2020 04:21

And what the fuck is Bio Text???

BusterGonad · 14/09/2020 04:21

Tex.

CSIblonde · 14/09/2020 08:03

Don't get why the fishy willy thing is relevant, but surely he can wash his own baseball cap. It's not rocket science. And I've seen Biotex here & there, when shopping, they still make it.

Porridgeoat · 14/09/2020 08:14

I’d let him crack on with getting his own bio tec and washing the cap himself. He’s not 2

Maybe he's nearly 3!
VickySunshine · 14/09/2020 09:13

Am I missing something here, you discussed " Fishy Willy" with your son ?.

veryvery · 14/09/2020 09:19

Has he not got a washing machine? I'd just say put it though a gentle cycle with biological laundry detergent to get rid of the sweat.Confused

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 14/09/2020 11:31

Biotex is a soaking/handwashing laundry agent that used to be easily available.

The OP has already stated that this is an old American Baseball cap and it may not be readily machine washable.

veryvery · 14/09/2020 12:49

Most things are machine washable if you put them in a pillow case and use a gentle cycle.
