Wool anniversary gift ideas?

Thisisnotataste · 12/09/2020 16:21

it's been a shit year hasn't it?
Its our anniversary in October and I thought it would be nice to get a good present for DH. Usually we're pretty lax about it but new baby and all of wave vaguely around 2020 means I'd like to get him something nice as we won't be going anywhere.
Does anyone have any (7years) Wool gift ideas?!
Thanks!

Budget?

£ - Something cashmere?

££ - A beautiful rug for your bedroom?

£££ - Shares in a prizewinning ram?

Better idea, if you don't already have one - a wool duvet and pillows. Perfect start to Winter.

Knit him something!

Yeahnahmum · 12/09/2020 16:40

A funky sweater.

TroysMammy · 12/09/2020 16:42

A sheep.
Socks

Tickets to something to Easter

A lovely weekend in Wales (sheep)

Cashmere loveliness

Dinner somewhere fancy that does amazing lamb - an Indian, middle eastern, greek or sunday roast.

Flights to New Zealand (when 'all this') is over.

The OP sounds busy enough already though ...

Every shepherd in the country (seemingly) has brought out a volume of memoirs / environmental philosophy recently. Pennies ...

Toast (other lifestyle stores are available) does wondrous sheepskin hot water bottle covers. I long for someone to buy me one ...

(Busy as regards knitting, I meant!)

Knit him a cashmere scarf. Super easy and he'll love it.

Weekend away in a shepherd's hut.
A sheep shearing course or lambing experience. Humble by Nature does the latter.

Felt slippers
A woolly jumper
A hat and scarf
A jacket or coat
That book by Herdy Shepherd off Twitter (possibly James Rebanks, or something like that?)

Woolfat soap! Got some lovely British made ones for DH and they smell lovely and feel quite luxurious to wash with.

Thisisnotataste · 12/09/2020 18:41

Wow. I wasn't expecting so many ideas! Thanks!
I wasn't quite thinking the budget for flights to NZ but I'll take a look for the other ideas... and yes knitting wouldn't result in a very useful/nice/recognisable gift for him!

A handmade Willy warmer or a sheep/alpaca. Best anniversary ever Grin

Scattyhattie · 12/09/2020 22:44

Can get some amazing 2d wool pictures & 3d needle felted scuptures some very talented artists about.

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 12/09/2020 23:46

PS - No doubt you spotted my deliberate mistake, OP. I obviously did not mean something cashmere, Blush rather, something in lambswool ...
