How to help PIL.

Posting here for traffic...

I have the loveliest PIL. I love them both to the moon and back, as do they me.

They haven't had an easy year. (No one has I know! ) MIL lost her father to Dementia. It was a long emotional journey for her & now FIL is about to lose his mother. They have been on a rollercoaster that must feel like it's never ending.

I want to do something for the both of them but unsure of what. Does any one have any ideas please? They would be greatly appreciated.

Obviously they may not be up for weekend break or meal out but as a stay at home option that they can keep why not put together a memory scrap book of old family photos and maybe some stories your DH or his siblings may remember from childhood or tales they themselves have recounted. A map of locations and pics of family homes or areas they have lived or holidayed or are just are special to them. If you have children get them involved with thoughtful comments and good intention vouchers that the GP can cash in for help with baking/gardening/shopping etc.
At such a sad time it may just be the small things make all the difference to lift their spirits.
