Think I just clicked to accept free trial in error and I don’t want it. Can’t find how to undo this- do I need to phone amazon or can someone tell me how to undo the free trial? Thanks

Go to customer service under settings and then prime membership will be in there. You

latheritup · 11/09/2020 23:29

Sorry, posted too quickly! You can do what you need to from there.

SoupDragon · 11/09/2020 23:33

You won't undo the free trial, you stop it from turning into a paid membership by cancelling - it will run for the free trial period and then stop.

ShalomToYouJackie · 11/09/2020 23:33

Go to 'your account' then 'prime membership' then press cancel

Thanks so much. I’m confused- maybe I didn’t click it as there doesn’t seem to be an option to cancel.
But when I go to the check out it looks different and isn’t offering me the free trial which it normally does and the screen looks different.

Sorry guys I’ve definitely accepted free trial but can’t see how to cancel it. When I go to the last bit of the check out it’s saying they’re giving me a free trial.
When I go to customer service, there isn’t a bit to cancel it.
Haven’t bought anything yet since I’ve clicked on it. Any ideas? Thanks

Call them tomorrow, don't stress

It is a confusing setup. I did do the month's free trial a while ago, and then when I went to cancel it couldn't find the button they said was on the page to do so, etc etc - it simply wasn't there; then another section I tried told me I didn't have a free trial, but I'd just spent close to a month watching stuff! I spent over an hour trying different things and getting conflicting messages and still this damn easy to leave the trial at any time button did not appear. I ended up emailing them, and they cancelled it for me, but it has made me edgy about ever signing up again, should I wish to pay to watch for a bit, because I'm not sure how I'd ever escape!

Go into your account , on the very long list is prime membership click on that and there is an option to cancel there . It doesn’t stop the free trial but it stops it renewing and charging anything after the free period .

Sunnysunnyevening · 12/09/2020 00:40

Thanks folks! If I can’t do it, I’ll call them tomorrow
Appreciate the replies tonight

They've got some good programmes. May as well get your free trial's worth, meanwhile!

Ilovenutellaaaaa · 12/09/2020 01:27

Two ways to do it...

Go to account, click prime membership in the menu... unsubscribe from there (it should give you the option to end it so that you aren't charged when the free trial runs out)

Or go to account, then select from the menu your membership and subscriptions....click to open it and you will find the Amazon prime free trial there too...just click to end it

I just had a months free trial. Was useful as I was in quarantine for two weeks and had to get lots delivered. I hate the way Amazon tricks you into it though. I put a reminder in my calendar to cancel it the day before it expires (otherwise you move onto the paid version). Click on your account top right (browser not phone is probably easier) there's a Prime status on the drop down and you can cancel from there.
It's not a one click cancel though - more like "are you sure? This will ruin your life? "Over and over until you stress that maybe you should keep it.
Ignore that fuckery and keep clicking til it's confirmed. They will then email you to confirm that life as you came to know it is now over and you are exiled from the paradise that is Amazon Prime.

Ohamireally- thank you! I was on my phone so I’ll try the laptop. I didn’t even consciously click on the free trial so if I’ve selected it, it must be easy to do by accident! Confused

@OhamIreally you don't need to set a reminder.

If you cancel it even the same day as you took it out, you still get the free trial for remainder of the month.

OhamIreally · 12/09/2020 14:27

@nanbread I didn't know that thank you!
