Do I spend too much on toddler hobbies?

DD is 2, she has horse riding lessons, gymnastics and dance class. This comes to around £130 a month, then any clothes or equipment she needs on top. DP thinks this is too much as when her sister gets older we’ll have to do the same fir her too. I’m unsure, I never had hobbies as a child and I want my girls to have them. I think as she gets older she’ll probably pick just 1 or 2 that she wants to do, then it will become cheaper but at the moment she enjoys all her classes.
What do you spend on toddler hobbies? Is this excessive?

Those classes aren't usually offered as young as 2. Might be a bit much for such a young child. Its your money though and its nice to have something to do to get out the house if you're a stay at home parent. I'd just do more stat and play style groups that young, more play focused

The "activities" they do at 2 are essentially pointless. They often dont have the motor skills of attention span to really learn things specific to any one sport or hobby.they will get as much from dancing around the lounge at home with you as from a "class".

Activities at age two aren’t pointless. Mine had 1:1 swimming lessons. It was done with fun and safety as a priority. They jumped in with confidence, touched the bottom of the deep end, learnt how to breath under water by retrieving toys, confidence to float , how to roll from back to front and basic swimming strokes. Vital life skills which should be learnt early.

There’s a difference between and activity and a hobby....

Also horse riding too often at the age of 2 isn’t good for their physical development. It’s not advised

Whereabouts are you @NoIDontWatchLoveIsland ? My toddler does these classes and seems to like them (things like Tumble Tots and Baby Ballet are a lot of clapping and singing and very basic things to do) but we'd love to go to a stay and play but none are open near us? They haven't been for six months and I guess won't be until spring so that's a year

I can understand the horse riding comments even though I've mentioned mine sits on a friend's pony regularly (it was actually recommended by her physio and team), but surprised at those that think say Tumble Tots is too grown up but that they did baby swimming? Surely it's the same deal, your baby didn't actually do any swimming, it's just simple themed activities and singing etc
