AIBU to throw out half a pot of nappy cream?

DGD is no longer in nappies, and I have half a pot of white nappy cream left over. I don't think I can pass this on to another mum like second hand clothes. Does it have any other uses? Or do I just bin it?

Just bin it.

akwiehd · 11/09/2020 20:27

Is it sudocream? You can use that for lots of things, not just nappy rash. I'd keep it.

OkOkWhatsNext · 11/09/2020 20:28

Sudocrem is useful for EVERYTHING. Sore bums still happen when they’re older. But also scrapes, stings, rashes, burns...I still have it in the house despite having no nappies around for at least two years.

mumfordofsons · 11/09/2020 20:30

Very good for burns and acne also.

Cryalot2 · 11/09/2020 20:34

Most nappy creams can have other uses. Check the date and keep .

GreyShadow · 11/09/2020 20:36

Sudocream is still bought in this house we call it "magic cream"!! Spots, rashes, anything really, just put some magic cream on.

I have teenagers!!

goose1964 · 11/09/2020 20:36

It's really good at preventing inner thigh rub.

Angel2702 · 11/09/2020 20:36

Even now my youngest is 9 we have use for nappy cream now and then can be used for all sorts.

AntiHop · 11/09/2020 20:37

I've just thrown a big pot away that was half full that was 6 years old, bought when my dd was a newborn.

Southernsoftie76 · 11/09/2020 20:38

Keep it in the medicine cupboard, sudocream has loads of uses!

jomaIone · 11/09/2020 20:42

Think of how many fingers have been in that pot, with potential germs on and it's been sitting for years. Would you put it on your face? I wouldn't!! Throw it out, it's rank and it's cheap.

Thesadmilkman · 11/09/2020 20:49

Keep it until it runs out. 10 years hereGrin Tattoos, cuts, mystery rashes, bites, sore bits.....

FarTooSkinny · 11/09/2020 20:55

It's also quite nice spread on toast

Deliaskis · 11/09/2020 20:58

NEVER bin Sudocrem, you'll spend then next 10 years regularly thinking....'a bit of nappy cream would fix that right up'!

We do anyway.

pooopypants · 11/09/2020 20:58

We have magic cream too - everything from scrapes and grazes to spots

WINHBB · 11/09/2020 21:00

Another one here to say it’s illegal to chuck Sudocrem if that’s what you have....

eatsleepread · 11/09/2020 21:02

I always have Sudocrem in. It's great for when my vag gets a bit itchy (no sex life but I do eat too much sugar). BlushBlushBlush

VallarMorghulis · 11/09/2020 21:04

I still buy sudocrem (rarely! It lasts ages...) and my son is 19. It's good for all sorts of little bothers as PPs have said.

Beancounter1 · 11/09/2020 21:06

It's like sudocream, but a supermarket own brand.
Is it better than germolene or savlon for a graze or cut?
I'm guessing it will keep 3 or 4 years in the cupboard?
It has only ever had my fingers in it, and I would think that if it is basically an antiseptic then nothing will grow in it.

Wow - I would never have though to use it for itchy 'down below'. Is it better than Canestan? (it is certainly cheaper!)

PeachForTheStars · 11/09/2020 21:08

You'd be mad to throw it away - it's the best thing for burns, chapped face, any sore bits down below - it's magic stuff.

vanillandhoney · 11/09/2020 21:16

Don't chuck it!

No children here and Sudocream has been used on all sorts of cuts, injuries and tattoos over the years!

Giespeace · 11/09/2020 21:25

I just chucked a half tub of sudocrem away after a year. Don’t like to think what germs would be in it after that long, never mind 10years 🤮
It’s not that expensive. Chuck it and buy a new tub.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 11/09/2020 21:26

@fartooskinny

On toast? Seriously?

Amanduh · 11/09/2020 21:29

Keep it! It’s good for everything for years and years. Burns, cuts, rashes, shaving rash, sore anything, any sort of chafing, spots, blemishes, scratches, sore lips, sunburn, grazes, everything!
