My child Is a nightmare!!

My DS just swallowed some hand sanitizer! I know he's only 5 but surely he should know not to do that! He's been alright for the past hour but I'm unsure whether or not to get him checked out. I've called poison control but the line is busy, clearly someone is in the same boat as me.
After I told my DS that he shouldnt swallow hand sanitizer, he claimed he thought it was water! At least he was thinking healthy.

AIBU by having him wear gloves instead of sanitizer?!

My 6 year old boy just grabbed my hair straighteners . They had fully cooked down from when I used them earlier but i hadn't yet put them away , they were on my dressing table. I swear he wouldn't have done that as a toddler because he knows the rules
