Re childcare centre

I booked my baby into childcare. It’s a nice small place with a nice outside area. It’s the same one my older son went to but different owners. I did a tour which was quite informal but didn’t book in for a while until my course started. I live in Australia and fees are subsidised. I was told that I would pay full fees the first week and then when the subsidy kicked in I would have credit in my account. He had been there for a week or so and I applied for the subsidy but pre filled details on the government website had the date wrong. I let the centre know this. Two weeks ago an amount came out for two full days care. I didn’t receive an email receipt or anything like that but I understood what it was for so didn’t think too much about it. At the start of this week I see that more than $1000 has been taken from my bank account with no warning or notification. I’m so angry. I appreciate they need to be paid but I would have liked some communication about it. I’ve had a few emails back and forth with the centre with them saying I’d filled in the start date wrong. I didn’t but my main problem is taking such a large amount with no warning and no invoice. Once the subsidy kicks in I’ll be paid months in advance which I don’t think is nessesary. They also said that they had tried charging smaller amount to my bank account a few other times but had been rejected due to insufficient funds. To me this would be even more reason to let me know they were taking the full fees so I could make sure there was money in there or work out a payment plan. I was so shocked checking my bank account before bed and seeing it overdrawn and it’s been really upsetting and frustrating dealing with them.
