A couple of days ago, I won a Jellycat on eBay that I’ve been searching for yet the sale was cancelled after payment due to another buyer offering more.

I am desperately seeking this Jellycat in large size (36cm head to toe) for a young relative. I don’t want to give away too many details as I feel this post is already identifying as I’ve been posting everywhere I can - I have name changed too.

They sell for a lot of money on eBay and I would be willing to pay via PayPal goods and services if anyone had one they would consider selling.

I would really appreciate it! This Jellycat is retired and can no longer be purchased.

I’ve woken up after dreaming I missed one brand new with tags for 50 dollars on US eBay. This is ridiculous... I’m essentially having nightmares about this bunny now Sad

I woke up sweating and gripping the bed like I would if I’d dreamt an axe murderer had chased me through the woods Confused. My brain is fried

But oh well, I’m hoping a different audience might see the thread now 🤞🏻

So sorry, it's heartbreaking isn't it Flowers

Just wanted to suggest that you check with the child whether they would actually accept a substitute.

We thought we had left DD's in a plane in January. Still get a cold sweat remembering. I was about to pay £60 for a replacement I'd found on a German site after a sleepless night of trawling when it thankfully (miraculously!) reappeared. But DD has said since that a replacement wouldn't be the same, and she wouldn't have wanted one anyway. She's 7, perhaps a younger child would be more accepting. But worth checking first!

I haven’t read the whole thread, dashing for the school run but posting so I remember to come back later and read over! Pic attached is my son’s from a few years ago, is this the small version of the one you are looking for?

There are a few stockists in our area you could try.
Hollies farm shop nr Tarporley (these have the biggest collection)
Gift box in Hoole Chester
Grosvenor garden centre
Tarporley garden centre.
Hope you find one 🤞🏻

@Raindropsonrosesand
Relative is secondary age and isn’t not a replacement but rather to complete a set as it’s wanted as part of a collection more than for a comfort item that is cuddled although it will bring a lot of comfort/satisfaction.

@BabloHoney
No, that’s a navy bunny. I used that bunny as an example for sizing but it’s the incorrect colour. Just like the large tulip I used to show how big the large is. I appreciate it’s confusing though.

@nearly40andfat
Thank you! I’ll give them a go Smile

I went to a carboot sale yesterday and spotted what I believe was the right colour and audibly gasped thinking how wonderful it would be to get one for you but when I looked it was a large elephant. I know it's time consuming and possibly unlikely and you've been to one but it might be worth continuing to go to them. Not everyone knows the value of jellycat bunnies - I certainly had no idea they were so sought after so the chances are the average person doesn't either. I really, really hope something comes up. I keep checking the thread to check for updates. I'll keep my eyes open here in Wales. Truly, the best of luck.

flutterbean · 14/09/2020 09:54

Have you searched on Instagram using a bluebell bunny or jellycats hashtag? a few different collectors come up when you do, it could be worth asking them where they bought theirs from/if they could keep an eye out for you as well maybe?

Horehound · 14/09/2020 09:56

Is this relative your child or is this someone else's child? If it's someone else's why are you going through all of this? Waking up sweating, having nightmares about a toy rabbit. Come on op.
Secondary age to complete a set and not even for cuddling....

@Ohtherewearethen
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!

@Horehound
I honestly thought that someone would have one lying around that they’d happily part with for £40/50/60. I’m a regular poster and I’ve actually spoken to you multiple times on other threads and you’ve always been polite to me so I’m a bit upset that it’s not being extended to my own thread.
The waking up was meant in a funny way. My mind does funny things when I’m caught up thinking about something and I said myself it was ridiculous.
I’m trying to help someone that it would mean a lot to, someone I love a lot. Plus, I thought some mumsnetters loved the challenge of finding something that’s hard to find whether it’s a dress, cuddly toy or vase.
I’m sorry you think I’m wasting my time, I’m starting to think so too, but I don’t regret it.

I have been harsh to you, sorry.

I just find it hard to understand why it is so important and especially because kids can obsess on things one week or year and the Next it's in the bin! You are really going to a lot of effort for this kid and I just wonder if your effort will be appreciated!

Well, I hope you do find it!

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 14/09/2020 10:26

Over invested in this thread!

BluebellJellycat · 14/09/2020 10:34

@Horehound
I accept your apology, I know it can be hard to understand.

Not that it’s relevant but they’re going through the process of being diagnosed with some type of SEN. Since I was younger the same was suggested about me but my parents refused further investigations as they thought it would hold me back. Their diagnosis journey has actually made me consider whether it could be possible that I have similar too since we are related and certain SENs can run in families but I’m not in any way self diagnosing and saying either of us definitely have SEN which is why I was reluctant to use little blue cup.

We both have quite obsessive tendencies but I’m 8 years older which is why I’m ‘in charge’ of finding one. Sorry if I got a bit carried away, sometimes I do and I don’t know when to give up. As I said previously, I’m a massive people pleaser an also I kind of get it as I used to obsessively collect build a bears when I was younger and would sometimes hurt myself through frustration if I couldn’t ‘complete the set’ or similar. That’s all sorted now, I know how to deal with things better and I’m a decade older but I do still remember how fucking shitty I felt when nothing could put it right. I also knew it was stupid to feel that way but I couldn’t help it so I used to feel worse, I think my relative feels the same.

Wannakisstheteacher · 14/09/2020 10:34

I really don't think we should be encouraging any child to collect things just for the sake of having a set and the 'satisfaction' from owning them all 🤔 It is so grossly materialistic. No one needs a massive bunny just because they have all the other ones.

Crystal87 · 14/09/2020 10:35

I think the bunny is for OP. There's nothing wrong with that though. I collect dolls. Try changing your search on Ebay. I've found things on there where the seller hasn't known exactly what it is they are selling. I bought a Patti Playpal doll that was just sold as a " 3 foot doll".
And new stuff gets added all the time, so just keep looking and I'm sure you'll find one. And as a long shot, I was in TK Maxx the other day and saw that they sell retired Jellycats though I didn't really pay attention to what ones they had.

BluebellJellycat · 14/09/2020 10:46

@Wannakisstheteacher
Point noted. I was about at the point of giving up anyway and the consensus this morning on the thread seems to agree.

@Crystal87
Not for me but I do have Jellycats myself. I never had the bunnies until my relative asked me to help look for some, except the one I sleep with which was a gift (all mine were until I joined the Facebook groups). I try to be someone they can talk to about their interest and I try to be enthusiastic as the bunnies are cute and they’re not hurting anyone.
Thanks for the search tips, I’ll try a few different combinations.

I was being vague as I’ve posted on Facebook and you don’t know who is on mumsnet. I’ve used mumsnet for advice since I was about 14 so I know teenagers could be on here.

If I say my brother/niece/sister/nephew/cousin is looking for this and someone else has seen my posts on Facebook they’ll be able to connect the dots and figure out exactly who is looking for the bunny as they know my name as I sometimes pick little relative up from school/playing out with friends etc.

I really appreciate everyone’s help!

Let's keep the thread going. Eventually someone will come up with one.

Raindropsonrosesand · 14/09/2020 11:58

@sabinaapplecross - that looks like the right colour, but looks like the medium size rather than large.

OP - that seller says they sell out-of-production toys. Could be worth a message?

Ohwhatbliss · 14/09/2020 12:07
