AIBU to suggest this is a good idea permanently for under 16's? they should not be not out roaming free in the evenings. This could help curb anti social behaviour and even save lives

I don’t think a curfew is going to help with COVID anyway. It must be spread around more during the day because there are more people about. And I know this is said to be down to drinking but people drink during the day too.

Outside of COVID, absolutely not. We’ve really got to be careful about throwing away freedoms. Plus some of us are night owls!

Yes to a curfew but for
adults ( except work, emergencies, carers etc) not kids
No curfew, if I want to walk to the shop for beer at 11 at night I should be allowed. If I want to then walk to the park and drink it, that's fine.
If I want to visit my mom at midnight or arrive at her house then because work and driving means I arrive then, then I will.

If we had to have a curfew then I’d say men shouldn’t be allowed out at night.
After all, they commit the vast majority of violent crimes/rapes etc.

I’m happy with your proposal as long a over 18a are as well banned from being out at night.

GeorgiaGirl52 · 10/09/2020 22:45

In my state people under the age of 16 cannot be out after midnight unless they are:

  1. with an adult over age 21
  2. going to or from a school event, job, or church activity 3.) going to a hospital or medical center And if they are driving, there cannot be more than three other unrelated people in the car (aka a double-date).

This is about under 16's, not adults

You’ve asked a question and I’ve replied back.
SBTLove · 11/09/2020 08:00

@Feellikedancingyeah
You’ve not addressed anyone’s points as to
this being a bad idea.
As a teenager I stayed out as much as I could due to an abusive home life, being forced in would have been hellish.
I think you need to look at many factors here before condemning and judging all teenagers.

IAmTooBloodyHot · 11/09/2020 08:04

Going out to see a friend and going out to throw a brick through the offy window to nick a bottle of diamond white are both purposes

😂

StoorieHoose · 11/09/2020 08:09

I assume the OP is now over 16 and had her freedom to roam about and now wants to restrict others having the freedoms she had?

Are you currently being terrorised by under 16s OP after 10pm at night? Are you tarring all teenagers with the same brush? Do you have a young child and have no earthly clue about teenagers?
