To ask you if trapped nerve experiences

Posted here for traffic.

5 days of headaches. Obvious it's coming from my left shoulder/upperback area. Radiating up my neck.

The last 4 days my eyesights been on and off blurry. I don't have vertigo but I'm light headed alot. Mild nausea, very weak for two days. Today I've managed a walk but didn't feel very energetic.

Neck muscles are very stiff and tight. Loads of creaking around that muscles.

Dr aware but didn't offer any suggestions.

Skint so can't afford a chiropractor.

Does this sound like it will clear up? Should I be taking anything still?

Any clues. Thanks.

I have had a trapped nerve before but only in my leg, I could straighten my leg for a week and would have shooting pains if I tried. Had sciatica also that varied with pain and had cocodamol and physio when it got so bad. Now sorted. No real advice but yours sounds serious and I would consider if there is another issue going on re headaches etc, gp should really be doing more imo. Can you self refer for physio?

Couldn't* straighten leg

I have one in my neck which causes numbness in my arm and hands and no feeling in one thumb, so always dropping things. mRI did not show much. It is worse on using the mouse on work computer. Not much to offer you in terms of advice, but I feel for you!

Had one in cervical vertebrae-continuous pain that muscle relaxers, traction and pain Rx couldn't eliminate only thing that helped was steroids which gave immediate relief

I had a trapped nerve in back of neck and it made me go blind. Doctor prescribed diazepam and eyesight started coming back after a few hours. Couple of days later I was totally fine. It was a scary experience though

You poor thing, that sounds awful! I had a trapped nerve in my shoulder a few years ago. The pain was horrendous and I had numbness and tingling in my hand and arm. Dr ordered an mri which showed bulging discs in my neck. I had private and NHS physio until it went away. Speak to your doctor again they should be doing more. And if you can afford it get some physio. I hope you feel better soon!

Could be trapped nerve or a muscle spasm, this might lead to migraines/headaches try alternating cold and heat take anti inflammatories rest , you can look up exercises on you tube xx

OP I think you need to request the GP sends you for a scan to show how trapped the nerve is, with a view to doing something about it.
I've recently had a slipped disc in my neck replaced with a fake disc. The slipped disc was pressing on my nerve and causing migraines, double vision, vertigo when I looked down and flashes in my peripheral vision.
Please don't let anyone fob you off about this or tell you that a trapped nerve wouldn't cause migraines (google cervicogenic headaches). Be skeptical of steroid injections if they are suggested. They made my symptoms go temporarily but they were back within a couple of weeks. I've heard other people have found this to be the case too.
Following the surgery, I am no longer getting migraines and my vision is completely normal again.
I really hope you get this sorted!

Thanks everyone. It's weird because there's no pain in my head the last few days. But my eyesight and balance is still abit off. I've just been to peg the washing out and didn't feel focused. My partner massaged my back last night and he said it's creaking and crunching loads around the right shoulder blade. He actually made something crack. My neck is definitely sore when I bend it it feels bruised and it varies in stiffness throughout the day. I will try and push more with the gp. They were no help the other day because I have anxiety sometimes. They don't believe anything I say now. I wish I had never mentioned it to them because that's cleared up mostly.
