@MyUserName77

Russell Brand at Belfast airport. We were the only two going through security. I set off the alarm. He pretended to frisk me for the security woman. Oh how I laughed. (NOT). He thought he was hilarious. Had a large entourage with him. Laughed at his own jokes. I escaped as soon as I was through security.
Ugh, if that absolute knobber had have got anywhere near enough to joke frisk me I would have beaten him with my carry on bag! Poor you.
Fudgefeet · 09/09/2020 22:59

I thought Chris Eubanks was quite polite. We crashed into each other in a dry cleaners. He’s so formal.

The Earl and Countess of Wessex (Edward and Sophie) and their children.

Andy Murray.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 09/09/2020 23:01

David Tennant backed into me on Regent Street (he was walking backwards saying goodbye to a bunch of fans). I was pretty cool about it (knew a friend would be Envy ha ha!!).

I won't hear a word said against Ewan McGregor. He was in a play in the West End and he held the door open for me in a local Pret (not there any more). Was impressed that a) despite being a star, he still had good manners and b) despite being a star, he went for his own sarnies instead of sending a gofer.

itsgettingweird · 09/09/2020 23:01

Oh I met Wolf the gladiator.

He's very funny in RL too

kierenthecommunity · 09/09/2020 23:01

I met Johnny Ball when I used to work in a fish and chip shop. They were shooting a TV show (I have NO idea what it was about) so I’ve possibly been on TV. He was very friendly.

I also met Harry Rednapp in a hotel in Preston where I was having my hen do. He was a smashing bloke and bought us all a cocktail. There were some footballers from whatever team he was managing there too, I think I one was Graham Le Saux although I wouldn’t put money on it. Whoever he was, he was very polite and quite reserved - not how you’d imagine the stereotype of a footballer personality at all.

Idontlikeyoghurt · 09/09/2020 23:01

@HelloDaisy I love Def Leppard! What was it like, meeting them?

Fudgefeet · 09/09/2020 23:02

cctvrec · 09/09/2020 23:04

My favourite memory of a famous non-meeting was when Princess Diana waved at me. She was doing a formal meet and greet with our county's mayor and other assorted VIPs at a train station. Fancy steam train, red carpet, press, the whole shebang. I stood on a hill overlooking it all with gran, (the only ones up there) and was waving like crazy to the princess. She turned to me and gave me a huge wave back.

Made my entire 80's that did!

FlapsInTheWind · 09/09/2020 23:05

Prince Charles

Idontlikeyoghurt · 09/09/2020 23:05

Oh and I've just remembered....
I worked in a Welcome Break service station on the M6 during the early 2000s. We had Alexandra Burke in one night buying something from the shop. Very nice she was. Also, I served an actor from the Bill but didn't recognise him until my colleague pointed it out after he'd gone. Jim Carver if I remember correctly.

Probably mine is David Tennant

But I have met a fair few over the years.

FOKKYFC · 09/09/2020 23:07

Johnny Depp and Kate Moss. He had sausage and mash; she had shepherd's pie, if memory serves. It was about 23 years ago, though. 'Meet' is probably overstating it, though.
Justin Timberlake at pub in Sandwich when the Open was at Royal St George's. Seemed quite affable.
Ed Miliband. Private dining. Lovely.
