What would you put in a 2020 time capsule?

I've been asked to think of something to do with 2020 to put into a time capsule for my friend's baby, due later on this year (which I think is a great idea!)

I'm trying to think of something positive but it's difficult to find many of those this year Grin

What would you put in?

A mask!

DianasLasso · 09/09/2020 20:45

I read the thread title and thought "a face mask". Then read you were thinking of positive things only.

Erm...

Uh...

Sorry, I've got nothing. Sad

icedaisy · 09/09/2020 20:46

Toilet roll

A rainbow something, like wooden or a picture.

happylittlechick · 09/09/2020 20:46

I got people to write a letter to my dd which she will read on her 18th. Something more personal might be better than generic.

MiddleClassProblem · 09/09/2020 20:46

Receipts from my pick me up orders for friends and family. Neal’s yard cheese, bad brownies, NIO cocktails etc

Rhoobarbandraspberries · 09/09/2020 20:46

Hope...

Ihatesandwiches · 09/09/2020 20:47

Definitely a mask! The letter from Boris at the beginning of Lockdown. Pictures of rainbows. Nice photos of family and friends on favourite walks

Rhoobarbandraspberries · 09/09/2020 20:47

Sorry. Didn’t RTFT. I got nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️

happylittlechick · 09/09/2020 20:47

Or something funny like tiger kind t-Shirt or similar.

veeboo · 09/09/2020 20:49

We've had a baby in lockdown and in her memory box I've put a newspaper, rainbow pictures neighbours drew for us, a face mask.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 09/09/2020 20:50

Face mask. Toilet roll. Letters from BoJo. A rainbow. Photos of the empty streets/wildlife to show the positive effect there has been.

TrickorTreacle · 09/09/2020 20:57

Burn some of this year's top 10 / no.1 singles onto a CD. They're quite popular on 18th, 21st, 30th etc birthday cards, like who was no.1 in the week that you were born. Also, CDs as a physical media format last for decades as they don't degrade that much, whereas USB sticks degrade faster.

AdaColeman · 09/09/2020 21:00

One of the top ten “books of the year”.

Cheeseismymiddlename · 09/09/2020 21:04

The covid literature sent out by the government. A neighbour of mine made little craft houses with slogans “2020 ... home with the ( family name) . Maybe “not on the high street “ or Etsy sell something similar. Xxx

SomewhereEast · 09/09/2020 21:06

Who in their right mind would want to open a time capsule from this shitty year Grin..

My parents did something similar but added to 'the box' every year until my boys were 18. They had pictures of my grandparents that sadly died just weeks before the boys were born. Photos taken the day they started school...first school reports...

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 09/09/2020 21:21

Have you taken up a lockdown hobby? Something to do with that?

So I could put in a water bottle or armband for running, someone might put a bicycle bell, another might put their favourite book or a sketchbook...

gingganggooleywotsit · 09/09/2020 21:21

a rainbow picture

ToastyCrumpet · 09/09/2020 21:22

An EU flag.

HaggisTheGreat · 09/09/2020 21:23

A loo roll or some pasta or a packet of yeast? Or a miniature gin?!

Singlebutmarried · 09/09/2020 21:28

On the face value of the post title.

Crap in a Pringles tube and stick the lid back on.

As it turns out this appear to be a serious post so:

Newspapers - from start of lockdown.

Or a memory stick (vacuum pack it so it doesn’t get manly) with all the data from this year on (ONS or gov.uk)

A picture of trump with WTF on it. Boris with the same.

Sparklesocks · 09/09/2020 21:31

A loo roll Wink
