Walking back after school drop off and someone thought it was a good idea to park their car like this.

Is it on a driveway?

ExclamationPerfume · 09/09/2020 09:29

I've seen a hell of a lot worse. At least you can walk on the grass and not the road.

Funnyface1 · 09/09/2020 09:30

Is it hanging over the end of a driveway? I can't really tell.

TeenPlusTwenties · 09/09/2020 09:32

Is this school parking, or inconsiderate pavement blocking parking that happens to be on your route to school?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 09/09/2020 09:33

That's not a school. Disappointed. Was expecting parking wars at the school gates.

Seeline · 09/09/2020 09:33

How do you know that it is school parking and not the person who lives there?

I know parking on the school run can be atrocious. The parking you've shown is not ideal, but you can get round it.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 09/09/2020 09:34

not saying thats anyway at all to leave a car but maybe the residents were making a point to stop people blocking them in on drop off? just a thought...

Because we live very near by.

Favourite at our school is across the entrance to the carpark of the blick of flats next to the school. Last year was also the the fire access road, but that's a drop off point so parents are at least not trying that this year.

I have never had to park more than 2mins walk from the school in a safe, legal space. Even when arriving 2 mins before the bell...

Scoobydoobywho · 09/09/2020 09:39

The school have had to send a message out to parents yesterday about inconsiderate parking and that was only the second day back.

Meh....seen worse. Couldn’t get myself worked up over that, sorry OP.

This is on the same road as the school entrance, so I assume they are dropping kids off. I didn't notice it going to school.

I don't know if it annoys me because we live on the same road as the school so have seen parking across drives and on double yellow lines. So this irks me. 😄

Unfortunately I think it's going to get worse and become a problem at high schools due to more pupils being dropped off rather than use public transport. At my child's high school a letter has been sent out duscouraging pupils from using public transport, half the school depend on it so it's obvious parents in droves are going to drop them off instead.

BiddyPop · 09/09/2020 10:00

Is it your house or something OP?

OldEvilOwl · 09/09/2020 10:04

Maybe they left the handbrake off? Seems a strange way to park unless they popped home quickly for something and dumped it there

VainAbigail · 09/09/2020 10:10

So are you saying that that car is a parents car and not supposed to be on that drive? Or does that car belong to that house? Bit confused.

aintnothinbutagstring · 09/09/2020 10:11

People are becoming more and more inconsiderate, it's all me me me. I'm expecting an email from our headteacher on parking, because they've opened an entrance to school not previously used, for Covid. The road opposite has become just a carpark really, with people performing all sorts of dangerous manouvres, and with lots of children walking past to get to school, there'll be an accident very soon.

Boom45 · 09/09/2020 10:12

Are they parked on your drive? Because that's not on. If they're on their own drive I think I would just walk round it and hope they dont make a habit of it

MoonSauce · 09/09/2020 10:25

Without any other angles photographed I can only assume I wouldn't manage to get my wheelchair round it. So whoever the car belongs to, they are bu

crimsonlake · 09/09/2020 10:30

I do not think this has anything to do with school parking?
Clearly someone who has parked on their own drive. Tbh I would have better things to do than take a photo then go home and post it on here.

Potterpotterpotter · 09/09/2020 10:31

Is it really that difficult to walk around it and get on with your day?Confused

Scoobydoobywho · 09/09/2020 12:10

I'm assuming that they are friends with the people who live there, so have asked for permission to park on the drive. There was a car in front of it hence it not being all the way in.
