To want a pair of leggings that you can't see my knickers through!!

I need leggings for my job- SEN teacher lots of running after the kids, on floor outside a lot constantly moving etc.

All the leggings I but seem to go see through on the bum! I always wear a long top or shirt but inevitably when crawling about on floor or up a climbing frame I don't want my pants on show!

I totally cringe when I see this happen to others and don't want to be that person!
What do they make them with?!?

Please give me your best legging recommendations!!

AIBU to not want to see my knickers through my leggings

Best ones are gym ones, They are always thicker material. Sainsbury’s gym ones are great.

Someone on MN recommended these as an alternative once and I now have several pairs, so comfortable and quite think material. Mainly wear them around the house and dog walking but they feel smarter than the price affords they should be.

Another vote for love leggings.

icelollycraving · 10/09/2020 07:28

Sainsbury’s ponte leggings. Thicker and wash up brilliantly, they last ages! No baggy knees or see through bum!

MrsMonkeyBear · 10/09/2020 07:49

Lucy Locket Loves.

There's 2 styles "Active" which are squat proof to the max and "Casual" which are very soft and super thick.

They often have sales and offers on and the patterns are amazing. They aren't doing plain colours just yet but they are on the way

New Look cotton mix leggings are great imo, only about £14.99 for two pairs. I buy a size up and wear either black or flesh coloured knickers and they're not see through.

Seasalt Sea Dance leggings. Thick band, high waisted and really substantial and comfortable. Not cheap (two for £40) but mine are three years old and still going strong.

If you are wearing black leggings what colour underwear are you wearing? I only ask because it might be worth trying flesh coloured underwear I’m sure I heard they don’t show through the same way as white or black ones would.

I'd echo this. It's the reason I wear flesh/nude coloured bras under a white shirt.

Also Sainsburys - I’ve bought expensive ones from JL etc and the luxury ones from Sainsbury’s are definitely the best

Some specialist shops such as running shops have seamfree leggings with a double cotton gusset. They don’t go treansparent and you don’t need knickers with them.

I agree with other PPs, who said sinophant leggings. They are £23 for multipacks of 3 long black leggings from Amazon
Recommend these

Roominmyhouse · 13/09/2020 09:59

Ooh you need to order the confident curves leggings from Very. Game changer! They are lovely and thick and a really good waist band. £15 a pair so not cheap but well worth it. I ordered one pair, then went back for 3 more!

nevermorelenore · 13/09/2020 10:46

Have a search for ponte leggings. Ponte is thick enough to cover you up but still gives you plenty of stretch.

I got the Sinophant Amazon ones but didn't read the description properly. They're mostly polyester so make me a bit sweaty and uncomfortable. Blush. I'd say they're better for fitness rather than every day for women who get hot! I prefer the Sainsbury's ones with more cotton content.
