To want a pair of leggings that you can't see my knickers through!!

I need leggings for my job- SEN teacher lots of running after the kids, on floor outside a lot constantly moving etc.

All the leggings I but seem to go see through on the bum! I always wear a long top or shirt but inevitably when crawling about on floor or up a climbing frame I don't want my pants on show!

I totally cringe when I see this happen to others and don't want to be that person!
What do they make them with?!?

Please give me your best legging recommendations!!

AIBU to not want to see my knickers through my leggings

Adsa do denim type leggings.
Very thick

Sparticuscaticus · 08/09/2020 23:20

Sinophant leggings from amazon
Trust me, these will be the best leggings you have ever bought. Lots of colours, they are stretchy, feel so soft, wash well, not see through and have supportive waist/tummy. £11 per pair (or less if you multi-buy). Next, /Sainsburies/whatever pair you are recommended can't touch these for quality and fit. I would never buy leggings anywhere else after I bought a pair of these.

Kuku bird!

Babyroobs · 08/09/2020 23:28

I always buy Boden leggings and they generally are thick and last forever. They are not too bad a price if you use a discount voucher.

This is an excellent thread full of recommendations, thank you! I regard leggings as underwear, and find the Muji & Next varieties cater to seasons at a decent price - Boden & People Tree leggings are pricier but substantial & so comfortable. No pants on view! I'm a complete snob regarding transparent leggings worn as outerwear, and i don't care cos my snooty judgement is silent, but ye gods, why do so many people insist on butt-munching, camel-toe exhibiting, unflattering attire?
Hope you enjoy school safely & modestly OP ;)

Abneyandteal19 · 09/09/2020 08:47

Thank everyone!

I do agree about legging etiquette and it's not my go to outfit I must say! But I work in a school for severely autistic children most of whom have no concept of safety, are non verbal and make a lot of mess! It's an amazing job but trust me leggings are necessary!!

I will be having a good look today and will try these recommendations!!

It's great to be back in school thanks- missed the kids a lot and the parents definitely deserve a break.

Will remain as modest as I can manage! Wink

Primark cosy ones, they're really thick.

MollyButton · 09/09/2020 09:02

I echo the Sainsburys £10 ones - I live in mine.

Oldraver · 09/09/2020 09:25

OP thank you for thinking of the parents. I am still traumatised at the sight of DS's teacher wearing too thin and tight leggings with a tummy skimming top

I could see the outline of her labia

Just ordereded the sinophant ones

Plussizejumpsuit · 09/09/2020 09:30

I just buy primark leggings and this doesn't happen. I always have my bum covered and only wear black knickers. But I check in the mirror and with my partner. It's def not happening. I've found m&s leggings don't maintain their stretch well. And h & m ones too long. Sainsburys are also good but I don't find they are better than the primark ones. Not a very glam answer sorry!

RoxytheRexy · 09/09/2020 09:57

Mint velvet from John Lewis. For similar reasons as yourself

Baaaahhhhh · 09/09/2020 10:28

I bought some from Mint Velvet a couple of years ago. Thick material, high and wide waist band. They have not shrunk, or bobbled, or stretched, or thinned, or faded. Well worth paying extra for (in a sale).

nosswith · 09/09/2020 11:06

I wish others thought the same as you.

m00Ma · 09/09/2020 20:49

OP sounds like your class are lucky to have you, and you them!
Hope you find the leggings to armour yourself & continue finding joy In your days.
I've trashed a pair of Muji ones today, my cats finally dug through & the knees split as i walked home, am I now trendy or mutton?
Excuse to buy new ones right on time, the mint velvet ones sound enticing!

m00Ma · 09/09/2020 20:53

@oldraver I feel for you! Invoke the obscenity laws. Indecent exposure. The trauma is for real Smile

My best were Boden but haven’t been able to justify price for a while so have moved to the Sainsburys £10 pair- their downside is that they don’t retain their blackness as well as Boden over time but still great value.

I disagree with asos recommendation - the two pack deffo goes lighter as stretches over the bum IME

ToastyCrumpet · 09/09/2020 21:11

Go commando?

Lolwhat · 09/09/2020 21:17

I stopped wearing underwear with leggings, you can’t see anything through them

Kaisawheel · 09/09/2020 21:38

The Sinophant amazon leggings posted earlier are amazing! I’ve tried so many but they are honestly the best I’ve had, wouldn’t buy any other pair now

nonevernotever · 09/09/2020 21:38

I'm another fan of the £10 sainsbury ones. Recommended to me on here years ago and still fab.

TweetUsOnFacebook · 09/09/2020 22:44

I swear by the Sainsbury's £10 ones. Comfy and stretchy and definitely non see through 👍. I always stock up when they have 25% off.

CSIblonde · 09/09/2020 23:55

I find Tesco £10 (for 2pairs)and Asda £5 black leggings are nice quality & don't go see thru.

LeSquigh · 10/09/2020 06:38

Do they have to be actual leggings rather than jeggings? Not sure if it’s just a comfort thing? If it is I would say it’s worth trying the M&S jeggings. I wear them every day and they are comfy. £15 a pair.

PaperMonster · 10/09/2020 07:12

I love FatFace leggings.
