Living room carpet about 7 years old. Very stained. Have tried all sorts of carpet stain removals on it. Even bought a vax carpet cleaner - no good really.

Want to replace it but DH saying not to yet as too early, we’ve only had 7 years. WWYD?

I’d hire a proper carper cleaning company to do it. I had mine done, they brought a huge machine in, which cost six grand apparently. Massive thing about three four foot tall. It will bring them up like new.

It doesn't matter how old it is, if it's worn and stained beyond help you replace it!

I’d replace it... shop around and be prepare to haggle you can hopefully get it done on budget if it’s just one room.

She didn’t say it was worn, just stained and dirty, as such, a proper cleaner will be able to clean it up like new and remove the stains, a vax or rug doctor won’t cut it.

This is the bit of kit they brought into do mine, honestly get the professionals in. They will tell you if it can be cleaned up or not. I’m not sure of price as I had whole house done, but it will likely be about fifty quid or so.

A professional clean should bring it up like new.

Verity35 · 08/09/2020 17:43

Can anyone suggest a company that does this if u used one?

Just google carpet cleaning and the place you live. The small local businesses are better than the national big boys.
