To complain to Wayfair for false advertising

I placed an order with Wayfair in August, listed as in stock and to be delivered in two days. They took the money from my account. It then got cancelled automatically, saying there was an inventory issue. Several days later the money was repaid. The price increased of the item at the same time. I got in touch and they said it was in stock, and they made a mistake, and I could reorder, again the delivery date in two days. They said they would not honour the price I paid initially though.

I reordered...and guess what, it didn't arrive in two days. Instead, that day it got automatically cancelled, and guess what, at the same time the price increased. Again I contacted them, and they said there were more than 40 in stock, and that if I ordered it would be delivered, but they could not honour the initial price I paid. I was ensured it was in stock three times, with it then cancelled.

It's still listed as in stock and can be delivered in two days.

Is this a common occurrence? It seems like false advertisement to me. The customer service is actually shocking. Complaints seem to go nowhere.

Has anyone else had these issues? I am pretty shocked at how bad their customer service is...i am pretty suspicious at their approach. though.

What outcome are you looking for? It's crap service, but on what you've said they're not going to care. Take your business elsewhere.

Did you pay with a credit card? See if your card company will refund you if you are not getting any joy from Wayfair. Alternatively tweet them - Superdry turned around completely from never answering any emails and never resolving by phone to calling me and resolving in 20 mins when I did that. Kind of a shame you have to publicly call them out though!

Get a refund and buy it elsewhere? I saw some garden chairs I wanted on Wayfair but the delivery time was too long. I ended up getting them cheaper on Amazon.

I had to look up who Wayfair was. I thought the OP was after something specific, but it seems that they sell a large range like Argos does. I voted YANBU due to the crap sevice that the OP received, but YABU for not looking elsewhere!

I'm more shocked that you were given a refund from them. The last time I ordered from them the estimate was 2 week delivery for 2 items, after 3 weeks I contacted them and they said they didn't have 1 of the items in stock despite it still showing on the website as in stock. I queried this and why they hadn't bothered to contact me or send me the item that was in stock and asked when I would actually receive it. They said they would send them together and they had no way of knowing when it would be back in stock. I gave up at this point and asked for a refund which they refused initially but eventually gave in after a lot of back and forth. The item is still listed as in stock on the website.

I've never had a good experience with them but usually put up with it as the items are reasonably priced, that one is enough to put me off for good now though.

This is it. I was given random excuses and fobbed off. How is it ok to entice people in with a quick delivery, and then change the date when you place the order. Looking online, it happens all the time. Surely this constitutes false advertising? I do wonder if they have been called up on that.

The excuses I have been given are ridiculous. This is the 21st century, databases should automatically update based on incoming and outgoing sales. They would have you think they are having to do this all by carrier pigeon because of Covid!!

I've been looking at alternatives. I am tempted to go through Made.com, but the wait for the desk I would like it 14-16 weeks. At least they're honest about it though!. I had like the particular style of this desk at Wayfair, but I don't want to give them my business (not that they care anyway).
