Hello,

Am I being unreasonable to ask my husband to help with a vaginal tablet?

I'm pregnant and the pharmacist told me I can't use the applicator thing but it hurts too much for me to mess around down there due to an infection (not an sti or anything to clarify) so I was thinking of asking my husband to help.... he got me pregnant so it's not the first time he's been down there but also it's really weird so i don't know what to do, I'm just finding it too painful to touch and I keep stopping myself where as if DH does it, I can just close my eyes.

AIBU to ask for help? (Obviously if he said no I wouldn't make him Grin it's light hearted but also a serious question GrinGrinBlushBlushBlush)

Why would you be unreasonable to ask that?

I'm a man - I'd have no issue helping my wife with this.

Of course yanbu op! In sickness and in health comes to mind!!!!

AvoidingRealHumans · 07/09/2020 22:37

Definitely ask him, he should be happy to help you.

AnneLovesGilbert · 07/09/2020 22:38

Ask him! Hope you feel better soon Flowers

You can ask it’s not unreasonable but it’s not too hard to put in yourself when pregnant if you can reach.

cheeseislife8 · 07/09/2020 22:40

FWIW I know what you mean, there's a whole world of difference between intimacy and getting DH to help with medical stuff down there. But you're a team and its necessary, itll be ok

Leeds2 · 07/09/2020 22:42

It's not at all unreasonable for you to ask him to help. And he should!

Personally, I would do it myself even if it hurt. That probably reflects badly on me though!

Hello, I had horrendous thrush when I was pregnant and used the thrush suppository with the applicator on many occasion. I was never told not to use it - unless you have medical reasons why. In answer to your post, I’m sure your husband won’t mind in the slightest helping you. Good luck x

WitchQueenofDarkness · 07/09/2020 22:43

Just ask him!

Lemondropsandgumdrops · 07/09/2020 22:46

I did this during pregnancy - I don’t think I even asked DH so much as told him I needed his help and laid down and told him what to do Blush I never thought about him not being okay - I was heavily pregnant with his baby and in pain and uncomfortable and needed his help to get the treatment for this, I’d have been really cross if he’d not been okay with it! Hope you feel better soon OP :)
