To want to pay for sofa after delivery...

I brought a very expensive sofa from an independent shop. The cushions have never sat properly on the three seater. They’ve taken the sofa back and apparently tried to sort it out but it’s made no change and looks awful. I’ve now asked for a single cushion to be made and received a quote. The thing is I don’t feel comfortable paying for it in advance because they are making me submit measurements and I’m not expert. Also I don’t know how well they will match the leather (I’ve read a review where someone had to get the Piping replaced and they used a different shade which looked odd!). How can I ensure I don’t end up with something unfit for purpose again?

With the measurements take their advice, see samples for the leather. Otherwise pay with a credit card and do a charge back if needed.
You can’t expect a person or company to tailor make you anything without payment first sorry

Sure I will ask for a sample for the colour. If there’s an issue with the measurements they will probably blame me as I’m taking the measurements for them. Do you think the credit card company will help?

Forget it and ask for a refund

A section 75 charge back can’t be used if you measure incorrectly- but the company should advise you on how to take the measurements surely
