I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

OP posts:

Agree that Eeyore would be a very trying friend.

Also totally agree ref. everyone in Conversations with Friends. I have never disliked everyone in a book more.

EBearhug · 10/09/2020 18:44

Puberty was a complete irrelevance to Enid Blyton stories. Plus they'd have been early twenties by the last books. Anyway, George had short hair, so she couldn't have looked like a boy. (Such was the logic.)

everythingthelighttouches · 10/09/2020 18:51

Reginald Rake

(From Julia Donaldson’s - The Scarecrow’s Wedding )

@Bassettgirl

I agree with you about Eeyore. But Tigger would be equally annoying, just too bouncy all the time! Grin

PhilSwagielka · 10/09/2020 19:55

On TV Tropes, the trope for characters no-one likes is 'the Scrappy', which says it all, really. Fuck Scrappy Doo.

Bassettgirl · 10/09/2020 19:55

Agreed Mittens. I would have to arm's length him too! Smile

Chucklecheeks01 · 10/09/2020 20:02

Lorelie Gilmore

@VirginiaWolverine

Tom Bombadil.
How dare you!!!
lovelemoncurd · 10/09/2020 20:40

Those kids in Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Edmund and the small girl most annoying.

LionessRoar · 10/09/2020 22:54

Bram Stark in GOT... the ending really annoyed me and I wish they’d killed him off in the first series
Phoebe in Friends.... she got progressively mean and catty in later series. Also agree re Emily
Dobby... couldn’t stand him at all... prob the top of my list. Can’t believe he is so well loved by so many

Shocked at all the Negan hate! Think he’s a fab character

SylviasMotherSaid · 10/09/2020 23:07

Dawson Leary !

sqirrelfriends · 11/09/2020 11:34

Rory Gilmore, especially in the reboot.

LadyFidgetAndHerHandbag · 11/09/2020 12:07

Emma Woodhouse

And her father. He can shove his soft boiled eggs up his arse.

LJenn · 11/09/2020 21:29

I've already commented but I feel this needs to be reiterated ... BING, Norman effing Price. Whoever said James Bond is SPOT ON!! I've never understood the fascination.. and lastly, whoever said Peter Rabbit.. you have opened my eyes and I wholeheartedly agree. He is a twat😑.

Candleabra · 13/09/2020 09:49

I don't think George was 13 in the books. I thought Julian was 12, Dick and George 11 and Anne 10.
But agree that there was no need for her to pretend to be a boy. Though it did enable Enid blyton to lazily use the same plot line in every other book where everyone knows something is wrong if George calls herself Georgina (usually when kidnapped). And how many middle class kids get kidnapped on holiday?! They usually deserved it too, nosing around in other people's business all the time.

Kisforkaylied · 13/09/2020 10:01

Hermione Bloody Granger in the films.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 13/09/2020 10:18

@TheSeedsOfADream

Kay Scarpetta's niece. Harry Potter's bully of a father. (Books and films) Tonks, Ginny Weasley, Cho Chang (films)
God! Kay Scarpetta's niece! I had forgotten what a pain in the arse she was.

And written by PC as though the readers were swooning at her intelligence and personality.
She got on my very last nerve.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 13/09/2020 10:21

@TSSDNCOP

Amelia and Maggie in Gray's Mandy in the WW, also Liz Bartlet Ian Beale, how is there still a storyline for him?
Adam Woodyatt has stolen a living as an actor. Playing himself for 30 years for a good few bob into the bargain. Nice work if you can get it.
RiftGibbon · 13/09/2020 10:28

I have already posted on this thread but had to come back to add
Mickey Mouse with his stupid voice and twatty white gloves
Horatio Cane. Smarmy and arrogant and when he puts his sunglasses on, he reminds me of a crab.
Upsy Daisy - well all of ITNG characters. How is this supposed to encourage learning? It's like watching the current government having a debate.

Mittens030869 · 13/09/2020 10:52

Lucifer the cat in the Disney cartoon version of Cinderella. I loved it as a kid, but as an adult I just thought it a naff version of Tom and Jerry. Grin

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 13/09/2020 10:59

Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera. Raoul is a patronising shallow drip, you should have stayed with Erik.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 13/09/2020 11:31

Godzooky was annoying too. Godzilla didn’t need a sidekick

woodhill · 13/09/2020 12:01

Definitely and even more irritating in the sequel
EBearhug · 13/09/2020 12:35

I don't think George was 13 in the books. I thought Julian was 12, Dick and George 11 and Anne 10.

In the second book, in the Christmas hols, they are stated to be 12 (Julian), 11 (Dick and George) and 10 (Anne). If you follow the books through by the last one, they should be 23, 22 and 21, but in fact are more like 15, 14 and 13. Although this could explain why, in one of the later books, Aunt Fanny refuses to open the door and shouts down to them that they're quarantined for scarlet fever, but they can all look after themselves, can't they... Just in case anyone wants ideas to manage their children in a second lock down. Grin
