I would say currently it's Geoff from Corrie.

@TheSoapyFrog

And Peter Rabbit. I feel so sorry for Mr McGregor and secretly hope one day he manages to get a rabbit pie and be able to keep his fruit and veg. I'm assuming he's just trying to make a living and has to put up with a bunch of free loading twats stealing from him.
I make no secret of the fact that I think Mr McGregor has a point and Peter is a thief.

Or else he needs a second cat; the cat he has is pretty useless at hunting. I have a cat who is good at catching rabbits. Grin

Irene in the Scotland Street series written by Alexander McCall Smith

@PhilSwagielka @jennytheonionslayer

Have you endured any of the recent CGI TV versions of Noddy? He's even more of an aresehole in those than the books or earlier TV versions. DC1 had a DVD of it one birthday from someone who clearly hates me and I have never before felt such anger at an inanimate object.

There's one episode where Noddy keeps singing a song about how accidents can happen to anyone so be careful- it somehow managed to be insanely irritating and at the sametime creepy and threatening.

MmeD · 07/09/2020 13:06

Yy to Lucie Manette.

And this is probably heresy but :

Rupert Campbell Black.

Dobby the house elf. It’s the combination of green skin, dirty pillowcase and oooh Mr Potter. It’s like having a disciple made out of snot.

DesdamonasHandkerchief · 07/09/2020 13:38

Noooooo MintyMabel I love Jean-Ralphio, such a brilliant comic creation!

No, thankfully. I remember there was a '90s series.

@Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies

The Robin in the Chalet School. No character could ever be one tenth as annoying as her.
Adult Robin is great, but agreed about child!Robin. No, Joey, Joyce Linton is not a huge bitch for not wanting to kiss some random girl goodnight. And if Robin was so bloody delicate that worrying about Joey was going to set her health back and make her get TB, she should never have been on that trip in Eustacia.
nicelyneurotic · 07/09/2020 14:10

Bing
Dobby
YY to Peter Rabbit and indeed all fictional Peters

Jenny in Gossip Girl. Actually most characters in Gossip Girl.

@ErrolTheDragon

Star Trek: I can't decide between Q and Lwaxana Troi
I love Lwaxana. She is a pain in the arse a lot of the time, but she is so funny and kind too. Her relationship with Odo was very sweet.

On the other hand, the dreadful Ezri Dax gets my vote. Such a vanilla character. Jadzia Dax was wonderful and complex, Ezri was insipid. The Dax symbiant must have been mortified.

Every 20-something single woman who has a flat in London, a complicated love life, an office job and is usually called Sophie, Maddison or Bella.

IncorrigibleTitmouse · 07/09/2020 14:33

George Warleggan from Poldark.
Anastasia from 50 Shades. I read the first book to see what the fuss was about but found them really poorly written. She said “oh, my!” 50,000 times too many. Get a thesaurus.
Claire from Not Working by Lisa Owens. Made me want to throw the book several times.
Also Carrie Bradshaw. I enjoyed SATC but what an entitled brat.
Fleabag. She was just a perpetual adolescent wreaking chaos wherever she went.
Rachel Hollis. (I am informed she is a real person. But it stands.)
Agree with others about Negan, that’s when I stopped watching TWD.

Yes I suppose Peter from 'The Chronicles of Narnia' was irritating as well. Grin

Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches · 07/09/2020 14:44

^^
I said Narnia Peter up thread too!

MrsMayo · 07/09/2020 14:47

I love Afterlife but Tony's phychiatrist is awful.

Mittens030869 · 07/09/2020 14:52

@Stannisbaratheonsboxofmatches

Susan was a lot more irritating, though! Grin

BacklashBacklash · 07/09/2020 15:10

The entire cast of Conversations With Friends.

BarbedBloom · 07/09/2020 15:14

I watched Friends and hated Ross at the time. He was so controlling and a nice guy that I was happy when they split. When he wrote the list about reasons not to be with her I actually wanted to hurt him

BloggersBlog · 07/09/2020 15:18

Meryl Streep's character in The Devil Wears Prada. The voice she does makes my teeth itch and my ears close in on themselves

SerenDippitty · 07/09/2020 15:27

Maxim de Winter. Why on earth couldn't he have just said to his 2nd wife "look my first wife was a right cow and I'd rather not talk about her if you don't mind, and don't listen to anything that awful old bat Mrs Danvers says either."

On the subject of TDWP, I hated most of the book characters, especially Andy's stupid alcoholic friend. I'm glad the film cut her screentime down.
Batshitbeautycosmeticsltd · 07/09/2020 15:30

Ross is a weapons grade cunt.

The entire cast of Mamma Mia, stupid AF.

SerenDippitty · 07/09/2020 15:58

@EasyAndy101

Riker from the next generation

Nearly dies so many times and never fails to disappoint by pulling through against the odds

Plus he's a sex pest who snogs or shags an alien every other episode and is constantly invading everyone's personal space on the Bridge.

Neelix is also bloody annoying. He must make Tuvok's fists itch.

Furiousfive · 07/09/2020 16:03

Skyler White from Breaking Bad

Onetraumaatatimeplease · 07/09/2020 16:34

Another one for Carrie Bradshaw. I'm just watching it again from the beginning. God she's a dick.
