So I remember the awesomeness of mumsnet and the maileg toy in a box thread that resulted in a happy ending!

Well here I am asking for my own mumsnet miracle.

My daughter loves her soft toys and really only ask for them as toys. Before I used to despair that she esp. favoured a cheap H&M deer toy over her gorgeous mailegs, but here I am begging that Twinkle comes back.

Since she got her, twinkle and my daughter have been Inseparable. She sleeps with her, goes on every outing and even gets smuggled to school sometimes. There is also a tradition that she goes on every holiday and get a pic with her that goes in the scrapbook.

We came back from Stockholm last week without Twinkle. My daughter is crying a bit everyday. I feel so bad. Self isolating so I can’t even distract her. She stuck at home watching tv and something will always trigger her.

I contacted H&M but they didn’t email me a reply.

They toy is not dear or fancy but to my daughter she is priceless.

I have attached a pic of Twinkle. Can anyone help?
I think finding the original is impossible and she understands this.

I'm no help, but bumping in the hope someone else knows where to find one!
Remember what it's like having small kids attached to a toy or blacket!

LittleBearPad · 06/09/2020 15:29

Also bumping. I’m sorry she’s sad

Another bump from someone who understands how important this is. Good luck 🤞🏼

They're out of stock sadly.

ClumsyAnnabel · 06/09/2020 15:49

Fingers crossed for you x my son lost his cuddly dog and it was like a death in the family! X

ClumsyAnnabel · 06/09/2020 15:51

This looks like the same teddy just without the dress? It was on ebay.

Please please help me find Twinkle!

If you cannot trace the lost toy, perhaps you could buy a replacement? If you hid it with some of her worn clothes or old toys overnight, it might smell sufficiently familiar. (It's hard persuading kids to accept freshly laundered toys let alone new replacements even when they look identical!)

I've asked Google and it appears that it's available in France. I cannot recommend a retailer so I'd suggest you do your own due diligence. (It's not showing on the H&M site so I'm guessing it's only available via resellers.) You need to search for "doudou biche blanc h&m" and scour the search results because I've noticed this particular toy range also includes a very similar angel deer!

Here's an example: www.sosdoudoubebe.com/boutique/doudous/doudou-divers/doudous-marques-diverses-de-a-a-l/doudou-biche-faon-robe-et-fourrure-blanc-hm/

And this is an example of the angel version, which might be a close enough match if your kiddo doesn't care about the outfit: www.ebay.fr/itm/Peluche-Doudou-Biche-Daim-Brun-Creme-Robe-Blanc-Paillette-Etoile-H-M-17cm-TTBE/254627610974?hash=item3b48fd015e:g:K00AAOSw7i5e6d9O

laudete · 06/09/2020 16:04

Btw, have you any idea where you might have lost the toy? If it was somewhere public, there might be an office you could contact. For example, if you think you lost the toy on the train, you could contact the transport office: sl.se/en/eng-info/contact/lost-property/

Humansareidiots · 06/09/2020 16:09

Thank you for the bumps and thank you Vanilla for your suggestion. I’ve been scouring eBay and have seen the exact ones have been sold in the past so that could be a way but it’s not certain and who knows when. In the meantime I can’t take it. Her brother and sister have been looking at the holiday pictures and when one with twinkle comes along my heart breaks seeing her try to hold back the tears and stay strong.

She’s concocted this story that twinkle just wanted more time in Sweden and is living with a Swedish family 😢

One is available on the eBay.de item number 224040787085. Says won’t post to UK but maybe will if you message them and tell them your story

glueandstick · 06/09/2020 16:13

Whereabouts did she lose it in Stockholm?

Jalapinot · 06/09/2020 16:13

The German one @Murinae mentioned

ClumsyAnnabel · 06/09/2020 16:18

It looks like others are out there on international Ebay. Some fab links above. I told my son that teddies get lost when another child needs them.
Not much comfort to a six year old but better than thinking of them being "unloved" I'm sure twinkle is being looked after somewhere.

Humansareidiots · 06/09/2020 16:18

Thank you SO much 🙏🏼 Laudete. Sorry I don’t know how to link the name in a reply. Yes I came across the France one too. But I was a tad nervous from buying something on a site I’m unfamiliar with.
I’m going to check the lost property via the link you sent. So grateful for that because I was finding it difficult to find. Imagine we found the original 😬.

This is just heartbreaking! I really hope you find her! I’ll keep my eyes open and ask around

laudete · 06/09/2020 16:26

SOS Doudou Bebe also has an eBay store, if you prefer eBay: www.ebaystores.co.uk/SOS-DOUDOU-BEBE

I haven't searched for any other retailers. But, France borders the UK so I should think shipping isn't very slow.

ChristmasFluff · 06/09/2020 16:34

If you are on Twitter it might be worth putting out a 'help' us find Twinkle' tweet and asking people to retweet?

There's also a soft toy lost and found account on twitter - it's worth a try.

spacegirl86 · 06/09/2020 16:40

I can't help find Twinkle but wanted to share the story of my Zippy who, 20odd years ago, stayed behind in florida, went to Minnie Mouse's house and got fat eating beef burgers and/or pancakes (the story is a bit blurred now). Maybe as you daughter thinks Twinkle is having her own adventure and will return and this will be a memory you can eventually look back on more fondly like mine!

itchyfinger · 06/09/2020 16:45

Ask H&M via Twitter. Companies are much keener to reply when the request is public.

Clawdy · 06/09/2020 16:47

Think I'd keep trying H and M. Surely they'd want to help?
