As if Brexit wasn't enough, our PM has chosen a totally inexperienced Australian mate to negotiate Britain's trade deals. A man who is such a huge sexist that the female prime minister has to give this speech: www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/politics/federal/transcript-of-julia-gillards-speech-20121010-27c36.html (transcript)
Never mind the misogyny, he is actually not a trade expert and we already have a huge problem there! Aibu to think we are all fucked?

You are not being unreasonable.

The shitshow that awaits us in January will indeed be just that. Tony Abbott - just hope that Trump doesn't get a second term as well

Aside from the fricking coronavirus over winter time Confused

Living in the UK just gets more and more depressing. I love Julia Gillard's misogny speech; looking at Tony Abbott's face while she is talking makes me want to slap him. Vile man.

The only thing that is keeping me going at the moment is daydreaming about winning the lottery and emigrating.

Jobs for all of Murdochs top boys. Sadly even though he was eventually laughed out of Australian government, many U.K. people will support his appointment because they feel that if they voted Brexit, they have to support everything to do with it.

If you list his record of failures they will just double down in their support.

mrbob · 05/09/2020 05:37

This is literally the best thing to happen for years...

To Australia

It’s a shame that he won’t have to wait months and months on a list to be allowed to come home like everyone else overseas

This is Boris saying a big "fuck you" to women.
And anyone who has a clue about trade.

Johnson and Cummings are rubbing this in our faces. The only hope we have is for the Americans to vote out Trump this November. It will clip the wings of this misogynistic and racist boys club.

Did you see the picture of Abbot with Patel? She looked as uncomfortable as fuck as though even she knows this is wrong.

Marmite0nToast · 05/09/2020 06:23

Abbott couldn't trade Pokemon cards, let alone anything else.

Monkeynuts18 · 05/09/2020 06:30

YANBU. You know all those people who say they voted for Brexit because we ‘won’ a couple of wars 70 year ago and had an empire (not that that’s a good thing) so we should be fine? I wonder if those people can see what a tiny, insignificant laughing stock we’re becoming - or see the irony in us entrusting our economic future to one of our former colonies’ political cast-offs.

BillywilliamV · 05/09/2020 06:34

What has Boris done, that all these people know about, such that he has to keep giving them jobs?

MsTSwift · 05/09/2020 06:35

Why has he not appointed Julia Gillard for this? That’s the better choice surely?

downwardspiral1 · 05/09/2020 07:04

Government of complete failures. All that matters is that they are right wing yes people.

I think what will happen is that the next generation - those who have just turned 18 - will help vote the rotten lot out.

Thieving, lying, incompetent bastards, destroying this country and its democracy under our very noses, while dishing out ridiculous slogans and saying that Boris wants to move on from any criticism he might currently be on the receiving end of.

Get thee to the far end of fuck Boris, and don’t come back. And bring Dominic with you, as well as your pack of useless ministers.

liverbird10 · 05/09/2020 08:01

Moronic appointment, but can't say I'm surprised. It's beyond a joke.
