To dread this work evening out?

We've all to go on a work evening out in a week, the first time we'll all have seen each other since lockdown. There are 30 of us. The plan is a bar with a lot of outdoor seating designed from distancing.

I reckon it will just be a piss up and the usual space invaders will soon begin to get in peoples spaces after a few. I think this is likely to happen anyway once inhibitions are lowered.

Anyway we are all expected to attend but I feel some anxiety about it. AIBU?

Go for half an hour then leave if people aren't social distancing, if it's ok then stay and try to have fun.

Just thought of something.

Wondering how the organisation themselves will react if the boss phones up to book in 30 people?

You could ask to see the Risk Assessment for this event......

If you don’t feel safe, or you don’t want to go then don’t.
Make all the right noises can’t wait to see you all etc. 2 days before “develop” a temperature/cough Oh no can’t come I’m gutted, have a lovely time.
