Very frustrated mother of a 2 month old baby with suspected CMPA. Our gp has been doing her level best to help her out but just doesn’t have the expert knowledge so has referred DD to paeds. Great we thought, a letter came through to book an appointment so we did, then we had a letter come through cancelling the appointment and not rebooking it due to covid.

Now I understand we need to be careful, but at what point will we start to get regular services going again, how can an appointment for a tiny baby unable to feed properly just be cancelled? Postnatal care has been at best limited anyway, but now we do need help we are being told no!

I do wonder how many extra deaths will happen due to late diagnosis of cancers etc.

So when are we expecting to be able to have regular referrals? 2025?

I had similar with DS seeing the resiptory Paeds. Appointment booked then cancelled but then another appointment came for a video consult. Possibly you may get the same.

I agree about deaths and illnesses not getting the treatment needed. Ds's Asthma has been awful and i cant get anybody to look at him as nobody wants him in their office.

Hope your Dc is seen soon.
