How long was it after you put in an application till you received payment.. I'm four months and still waiting for the b*stard to pay.

It took about 6 weeks for my daughter. 4 months sounds pretty unreasonable. Have CMS given him a payment schedule?

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 21:36

Yeah, he asked for a mandatory reconsideration to start with which they rejected as his income hasn't fallen 25% so he was supposed to pay first of the month by direct pay and he hasn't, its switched to collect and pay but he's not sending the money onto them either. I'm guessing they'll need to get a court order to take it out of his earnings?

I can’t understand why NRPs do this. It hurts their children and ends up costing them more. Presumably it’ll have to come from a deduction of earnings. Do keep chasing cms and ask for updates. If things seem slow, contact your MP.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 21:45

Yeah I've gone into full on annoying mode and calling them every day. Not helpful when it takes nearly half an hour to get through though.. He's nearly £2000 in arrears because of his ignorance. Do you know how long it roughly takes for the deduction of earnings to take place x

11 months of complete fuckery from both ex and CMS.

But I stuck to my guns and now get £109 a month. Didn't get any back pay for the 11 months due to above fuckery from CMS.

I am yet to find the strength to put myself through the phone service that will 1) tell me I am important and 2) did I know there was a pandemic, in order to follow up with my unanswered complaint. They are fuckers.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/09/2020 21:51

How longs a peice of string?

Took me 2 yrs, as ex kept being an arse.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 21:54

Sounds awful @theorigbrave to be fair most of the agents I've spoken to have been helpful but it's just this b*stard is punishing me for leaving him by now paying. It's only his daughter he's punishing because that's money for her.. I hope when we make it down the court route the judge says no contact at all. He's scum of the earth. Just don't understand why he'd want to cost himself more money.. I'm actually much better off with the amount I've been offered through CMS yet just prior to leaving I tried to be amicable and said a reasonable amount was £150 a month.. CMS has calculated it as four times that.. So he's made it entirely worse for himself

I never got a payment, ever. For 13 years he didn't see or pay for his kids. The day my youngest turned 18 (still in full time education) the case was closed and all his debts wiped :-(

timetest · 03/09/2020 21:58

2 years! That’s an insult. They really aren’t fit for purpose and need a good shake up. I don’t think this government has the inclination to change anything though.

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/09/2020 22:02

This was back in 2007 I started the claim@timetest, thank god my 2 are older now and i dont need his money.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 22:03

@DimplesToadfoot that's a total disgrace.. He doesn't deserve his kids and they are completely better off without him. Doesn't make it easier I know.. I just don't know how they get away with it :( my ex hasnt so much as sent me ten pence since I left knowing I work part time and am supporting myself and my child. It's an utter shambolic disgrace. I'm disgusted he's her father.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 22:04

@vodkaredbullgirl you may not need it but it was your children's and they were entitled to it.. How could he not have wanted to provide for them :(

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/09/2020 22:29

@Mummybiscuitx He did start to pay after the caught up with him. He stopped paying once they both turned 18, they are 23 and nearly 21 now. He has not seen either of them for many yrs, but that another story.

Mummybiscuitx · 03/09/2020 22:33

I'm glad he did. I think in my case in particular if I could instantly get his name off her birth certificate and change her surname I would. He will never be a responsible father, now he's proved he just doesn't care
