At work all the girls have perfectly coiffed, well defined thick brows. I like the look but as a 70s baby i plucked my mono brow until they are quite thin and pale. I would love a more defined look.
Plus when did brows become such a thing? I blame Cara Delevinge!

Older People probably thought similar about your make up/clothes/hair when you were young! Trends come and go, who knows what’s next Grin

Tattoocrazymum · 03/09/2020 19:37

I have to agree, some look so good... but then the thick dark slugs look completely ridiculous.
I use a bit of light brown eyebrow powder stuff on mine, without going as thick as possible

Tattoocrazymum · 03/09/2020 19:39

i have a school friend on my facebook and she does hers huge, with what looks like black liquid eye liner. They look awful and wonky

IWantT0BreakFree · 03/09/2020 19:44

I actually think that there are quite a lot of different eyebrow trends at the moment. I'm a fan of the slightly fluffy, fairly natural brow (I use tinted gel but no powder/pencil/pomade), but I'm generally quite low maintenance. I see a lot of women with ombre brows, S shape brows, straight brows, laminated brows etc. It's nice that there's a style for everyone right now, whether you're into heavy makeup or more low key.

Pinkywoo · 03/09/2020 19:50

I think it depends on your face, not everyone suits thick eyebrows even if they are in fashion.

I detest the current Trend. I don't like microbladed.

There's still plenty of terrifying ones out there. I passed a young woman yesterday with blonde hair and black painted on slugs for eyebrows. They were extremely thick.

BarefootHippieChick · 03/09/2020 19:56

Iwanttobreakfree what brand of tinted gel do you use? I've bought a couple but they always seem really gloopy and I end up having to wipe half of it off.

FuzzyPuffling · 03/09/2020 19:56

Well, we oldies need something to laugh at!

PicsInRed · 03/09/2020 19:58

They look the same because they are the same. They're glue ons - like wall paper for eyebrows. They're literally the same eyebrow. 😂

PicsInRed · 03/09/2020 19:58

And magnetic eyelashes. 😂😂😂

FuckinGoddess · 03/09/2020 19:59

...and?

MinnieMousse · 03/09/2020 20:03

Well defined eyebrows - fine. Big thick caterpillars - awful! Some of them are so over-the-top that they ruin the appearance of otherwise attractive faces. It's one of those things people are going to be mortified about when they look back on photos in a few years. Still, that's a rite of passage for us all Grin.

ErrolTheDragon · 03/09/2020 20:08

The young women I know do nothing obvious to their brows at all.

So YABU, it's not all of them.

JenniferSantoro · 03/09/2020 20:30

There’s going to be a whole generation of women with ridiculous tattooed eyebrows. They look ludicrous.

VeggieSausageRoll · 03/09/2020 20:33

It was very popular to pluck them to almost nothingness when I was a teenager. I never did and got stick for it.
Glad I didn't now as mine are largely natural (although shaped with a 4 weekly wax) whereas all my old school friends are tattooing theirs back on!

Nanalisa60 · 03/09/2020 20:39

Mine have been plucked to death, I have tried to grow them out but they don’t grow back the way. Not in the right shape.

nestisflown · 03/09/2020 20:41

I don’t agree. There’s lots of different trendy brows at the moment. For example:

  1. there’s the Geordie brow that’s thick, dark, pencilled in unnaturally and defined with concealer.
  1. There’s the glam Kardashian brow that’s similar to the Geordie brow, also defined with concealer but with a higher arch and tapered off at centre forehead end.
  1. There’s the Cara Delivigne brow that’s naturally thick, with a slight arch and filled with a little powder and upwards pencil or brow pomade strokes.
  1. There’s the Korean brow that’s like the Delvigne brow but straight with no arch.

Those are just the main brow trends right now. Unless you live somewhere like Essex or Newcastle where there’s a dominant trend - I would disagree and say that unlike previous generations there’s quite a diversity of brow styles. The only thing that’s out of style are overly plucked brows.

Beamur · 03/09/2020 20:42

I think a good shape and definition looks good but really exaggerated ones are not to my taste.

nestisflown · 03/09/2020 20:48

*in my post I was referring to the “scouse brow” not sure what a Geordie brow is. The kind of brow Lauren Goodger has etc. It only seems popular in the Uk though - I don’t really see YouTube tutorials with that brow style

2020iscancelled · 03/09/2020 21:00

Well I for one am glad brows are a thing now.

Brows can dramatically change your face. Yeah I agree sometimes they can look a little heavy - but each to their own. If you want a scouse brow then good for you.

I am a fan of the laminated brow; it gives a fluffy textured look, the hairs are permed and tinted and it really does make your natural brow look thicker and more defined. I have a light brown tint and to be honest without make up it just looks like I’ve got very nice natural defined brows. Unless you know about lamination you’d just think I was lucky

Honestly each to their own! Don’t like the trends? Don’t get them done!

But, i think a good tint and tidy could change your mind

BashfulClam · 03/09/2020 21:01

I hate my brows, they are really thick and black but I suppose that’s what people want to emulate.

Titsywoo · 03/09/2020 21:03

I do fill mine in now as they are quite sparse and I look much better when they are done. I don't make them bigger than they are though. I use Charlotte tilburys brow pencil. Defined brows do make you look more polished.

bluecoffeecups · 03/09/2020 21:18

I have a small gap in one of mine after a disagreement with a caravan door some years ago. I used to fill it in with eyebrow pencil but I don't bother any more. The eyebrow that is, not the caravan door.
