We went to the zoo recently and was walking down to the tiger enclosure. We saw a man had jumped over the fence into the greenery to retrieve his glasses that 'fell off' and subsequently the tigers all came to the front of their enclosure.

I can't think why he wouldn't ask a zookeeper to safely get them or was he just trying to get the tigers closer for a better pic?! Either way my face was Shock

I've attached a wonderful diagram. Very proud of it Grin

@TinkerbellsNemesis my ex husband worked in a company that had a man who had life size dolls and I'm sure it was him in the documentary.

Has the company got 3 letters then a word?

devuskums · 07/09/2020 00:42

I was in our local leisure centre helping my daughter dry herself after swimming lesson. In the next cubicle was 2 people having quite noisy sex, with the man whistling that song 'its going to be a fine night tonight!'

managedmis · 07/09/2020 00:55

Where exactly in Germany is this lake?

^^

Grin
ravenmum · 07/09/2020 01:12

More or less any lake in the East... the one round the corner from my house is a tiny gravel pit on the outskirts of Dresden; the one with tanned rowers is a random lake in Mecklenburg.

mammato5 · 07/09/2020 01:17

Oooh I went on a school exchange to Dresden in 1999. Brought back some lovely memories. Thanks

Sootthus · 07/09/2020 01:42

leaving a park and heading back to the car. From the car park a couple with a dog on a lead were coming towards us. The dog was just strolling along stood upright on its 2 back legs

Enchantmentz · 07/09/2020 08:27

@EmbarrassedUser was that at the Mound? Hilly street from princess street. I have only ever heard of that robot mower. I know which building you are on about too it is really pretty.

I didn't mean to be mean, it just amused me that you reduced a huge cultural phenomena to a drink with a straw.

I want to work in an office in Montevideo, just because you can order coffee from the local cafe and it is delivered in a cup and saucer by a waiter carrying a tray at shoulder height. I have fond memories of Uruguay.

Happynow001 · 07/09/2020 09:17

@dentydown

Was in the middle of a c-section. The operation table was a fancy modern electric one where it raises, falls, tilts in all directions. Suddenly I say “I’m going to fall off “ everyone tells me it’s the anaesthetic. Then they realise. The table won’t stop tilting to the right. Suddenly everyone who isn’t important to the operation is holding on. The theatre manager, nurses, students, partner, midwives. Someone is on the phone to a technician who comes in and frantically turns it off and hand cranks it back to normal!
Oh my word OP!! 😳

No problem, I am very fond of Uruguay and its quirkinesses. Just couldnkt think of a way to describe it that didn’t amount to an essay!

Had a two WTF moments Driving along the A12 at 6am on Sunday Mornings.
The first one the road was very empty suddenly I see a hot air ballon coming from the left pretty low could see the panicked looking face of the man flying it. I Didn’t know whether to speed up or slow down So kept same speed - the basket skimmed the top of my car and just managed to land in the field next to the road! I carried on driving to work thinking maybe I imagined it but no a couple of scratches on the roof proved it was real 😯
The other was at a similar time About 7 years ago with he usual almost empty Road Very Early on a Sunday a lorry had pulled into lay-by Up ahead and as I was approaching suddenly the back door of the lorry was flung open and a load of men started running out most went Right towards the fields but some ran Left straight across the road ( I guess in a disorientated blind panic ) - thank goodness it was so quiet otherwise I’m sure they would have been killed.

Was the dog a terrier-type, Soothus?

Patterdales, in particular, will rear up on their hind legs to get a better look at something, and they can balance upright and walk a surprising distance whilst doing it.

I've got a Patterdale and she will often do this to watch something in the distance (for her, she's only little). They also wee by doing handstands to get their wee a good way up a plant or building.

Very, very strange dogs.

TinkerbellsNemesis · 07/09/2020 10:59

@GrandTheftWalrus ... Has the company got 3 letters then a word?

Yes - I don't want to be too outing, but a company connected with the motor industry, in a small town in the south of England.

GrandTheftWalrus · 07/09/2020 11:15

@TinkerbellsNemesis yeah they used to be called something else then changed their name. My ex works in the office in bellshill. Or well he used to, may have changed jobs.

IncludeWomenInTheSequel
*I used to live next to a homeless shelter.
Woke up to a racket one night, looked out the window and half a dozen guys from the shelter were sitting and singing the Club biscuits advert jingle in really loud operatic voices, harmonising and everything.

If you LIIIIIIKE a lot of chocolate on your biscuit* - Join our club.

That used to be my go-to response if anyone said anything mean to me - Just very sweetly singing that to them, looking them calmly in the eye, smiling and walking away. I'd forgotten all about it until I read this - glad to have fellow club advert lovers out there, even if they are a bit under the influence!

MBM18 · 07/09/2020 12:25

@Ormally

Something was wrong with the kitchen sink in a family member's house some time ago. Needed a washing up bowl to be put in the cupboard beneath the pipes to catch dripping water, so we left the under the sink cupboard door open to keep an eye on it.

Relative noticed that the bowl had got pretty full. So picked it up and quickly emptied it down the sink above....

This is something I would do Blush
Happynow001 · 07/09/2020 14:04

@cakemeupbeforeyougogo

Watching out of the living room window the local elderly vicar attempt to parallel park and hitting our car parked next to him. Confronting him only to get repeated denials he'd touched our car!

Lying - and him a man of the cloth! Tut! Tut!

EmbarrassedUser · 07/09/2020 16:48

@Enchantmentz Yes I think that’s the one (I was on a weekend trip) Check it out, it was a real highlight Hmm 😆

thevassal · 08/09/2020 15:37

@sunshinecake - thank you! I thought exactly the same about @managedmis's story - couldn't work out whether the wtf moment was the guy climbing into her bed by mistake - a bit of a shock to her at the time I'm sure but not hugely outside of the realm of wacky flatshare shenanigans, or the fact she THREW HIS WATCH IN THE BIN, rather than just leaving it in a communal area, which was the only part of the story that made me think wtf.

MaggieMagpie357 · 08/09/2020 17:25

I literally had my WTF moment this morning at 9.45am when we experienced an earthquake in the Home Counties!!! Only lasted about 5 seconds but it was scary as hell. I thought a lorry had hit our house and it was going to collapse.

Elderflower14 · 08/09/2020 21:39

@MaggieMagpie357 My son was woken by the Kent 2007 earthquake... His whole bed shook... He was petrified!

Sootthus · 09/09/2020 02:17

@Zaphodsotherhead ha they do sound funny. I don't know much about dogs so had to Google but I don't think it was a patterdale. I think it was more of a whippet type dog.

Can't fully remember though. I was too busy being amused at its antics Grin

AdoreTheBeach · 09/09/2020 05:26

^^Otto85

So I’d not been going out with my girlfriend for very long and she tells me that I was in her top 3 of best shags - which basically meant I wasn’t the best shag, nor the second best shag, but the third best shag....wtf.....!!! Even more WTF.... we’ve been married for 18years😁
**
Sorry @Otto85 which is it? New girlfriend or wife of 18 years?

JoeWicksSurvivor · 09/09/2020 06:17

@AdoreTheBeach I think Otto was giving 2 WTFs. The first WTF was being told they were top 3 many years ago. The second WTF being that despite that revelation they stayed together, got married and have been together 18 years.

Otto85 · 09/09/2020 06:30

Aha - yes that didn’t come across very well....the gf who rated me then became my wife. And we’ve been married now for 18 years. Still wtf all these years later😁
