I think mine has to be peter andre's Mysterious Girl! Grin

I was born in 86 for reference Blush

George Michael- father figure

NellyTimes · 06/09/2020 19:29

Madonna - Take A Bow
Chris Isaac - Wicked Game

Starksforthewin · 06/09/2020 19:44

Thank you Serin for drawing my attention to Sergei Polunin in that Hozier video.

Truly thank you 😀

I’ve seen Sergei dance live at ROH but obviously in more, ahem, ‘formal’ roles.

In return, may I recommend Irek Mukhamedov dancing the pas de deux from Romeo and Juliet or Manon.

The most masculine ballet dancer I’ve ever seen.

ShinyMe · 06/09/2020 20:09

@Starksforthewin omg. If we're talking Irek Mukhamedov.... my mum took me to see the Bolshoi in 86 (?) when they first came to the UK after decades, and we saw a mixed bill that had act 2 of Spartacus, with Irek leaping around and being topless and sweaty and slave rebellion leading. I was 14 and my mum still says how she can remember my eyes nearly coming out of my head. He was just amazing. It's also worth searching out Winter Dreams (which also had a young Darcey Bussell) where he was excellent.

Starksforthewin · 06/09/2020 21:32

YES, ShinyMe!

I’m so delighted to have found a fellow Irek fan. Most people go “who”?

I too saw him for the first time in the 80s in Spartacus. His entry leap from the back of the stage 👀👀👀
We were in the front of the Circle and I thought he was going to land in my lap!
I couldn’t tell you anything that happened in that ballet, I just watched him for three hours.

I love Winter Dreams as well, so romantic. Macmillan was a genius. RIP.

WhatTheFuckHappenedHere · 06/09/2020 21:33

Not the video, but Pulp’s song Pencil Skirt. And Jarvis Cocker in general. Mmm.

ShinyMe · 06/09/2020 22:13

Oh well yes, no arguments from me about the genius of Macmillan, @Starksforthewin! Absolute genius.

MadameMeursault · 06/09/2020 22:16

The Police - Don’t Stand so Close to Me
I wanted all my teachers to be Sting!

ViolettaJauntyVioletta · 06/09/2020 22:20

OMG Irek bounding around the stage in Spartacus, absolutely. How funny that when old Richard Baker introduced the Bolshoi from Hyde Park, he had no idea of the teenage dreams he was setting in motion. I nearly wore out the VHS watching that. It used to be on YouTube, dunno if it still is.

alltoomuchrightnow · 06/09/2020 22:22

Totally, WhatTheFuck...but can I share him? (I think he'd actually love being shared) ;)

alltoomuchrightnow · 06/09/2020 22:23

Warm Wet Circles, although I don't think there's a video. The song is sexy(Marillion)

smaller14 · 06/09/2020 22:26

Not really a music video but David Bowie in Labrynth was my first sexual awakening! Can remember it so clearly!

stayathomer · 06/09/2020 22:31

Another for Chris Isaac Wicked Games, gets me hot and bothered even thinking about it

Yes yes yes
ViolettaJauntyVioletta · 06/09/2020 22:37

@ShinyMe @Starksforthewin here it is! From that very performance you were at, ShinyMe. Six minutes in is the bit you want. The recording quality is pretty poor, ofc, but still, it's there.

JalapenoDave · 06/09/2020 22:41

Not a music video exactly- but back in late 90s/early naughties when Westlife were big. Whenever Mark came on screen I could feel something stir within me, with his big old eyes and pouty lips and gorgeous face and... drools

JalapenoDave · 06/09/2020 22:42

Noughties* damn autocorrect.

Faircastle · 06/09/2020 22:45

The sex scene in Top Gun (Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis). I was 13 when I saw it.
And therefore, by association... Take My Breath Away, by Berlin.

evilharpy · 06/09/2020 22:56

November Rain. Slash stomping across the sandy ground outside the chapel leading up to the guitar solo, hooooly shit. I still would.

Starksforthewin · 06/09/2020 22:57

Sweet Mother Of All That Is Good And Pure!!

Thank you so much Violetta 🥰👏👏

I haven’t seen that clip for years. Just look at him 🥵🥵🥵

I remember when he defected from the Bolshoi and I was so delighted that he would be dancing so frequently in London.
I even saw him with his own company at some point in the 90s, I think at Sadler’s Wells. I was in the front row. I think they only did one tour.

I couldn't remember the video so just found it on youtube. Oh my. Bit hot in here isn't it? Might open the window. Or take a cold shower.
Starksforthewin · 06/09/2020 23:02

I am really smiling at the wide variety of sexual awakening stories we have shared on this thread.
From ballet dancers to gay men to women to teen pop stars to rock musicians to Jarvis Cocker, who deserves a category all of his own!

How different we all are, just as well. All Mumsnetters fighting over Adam Ant would be most unseemly. 😀

Dee1975 · 06/09/2020 23:06

On top of the pops, Climie Fisher, love changes. I literally fell in love with his eyes there and then. I still remember it now ...!

Hails68 · 06/09/2020 23:14

Sting Don't stand so close to me, my first crush, altho I also had a girl crush on Debbie Harry Smile

ViolettaJauntyVioletta · 06/09/2020 23:19

Just look at him.

I KNOW.

So glad the clip made you happy, @Starksforthewin. (It certainly did me.) To think, that was the first time anyone outside of the USSR had seen him. He certainly knew how to make an impression! I've just watched it like ten times.

I also went to see his company all those years ago. He was an amazing dancer. Really, what a guy.
