Posting here for traffic as I posted a while ago in chat and didn't get any replies and I'm running out of time to book. We live around the Newcastle area but don't mind driving approx 2 hours away. It's DP's 30th at beginning of October and originally I was hoping to book a nice holiday abroad but obviously that's not going to happen now. I'm thinking maybe a lodge with a hot tub but somewhere where there is nice pubs with live music within walking distance and towns nearby that we can drive to. Both not massively keen on walks unless we're actually going somewhere. Has anyone got any suggestions and recommendations on what I can do to make it a bit special? He really isn't bothered and I don't think he'd care if we just went out for a meal but I'd like to treat him and he deserves it.
