Any ideas what this might be and whether I should worry?

Woke up this morning with weird rash on right side under my ribs and a little bit on side and back. The main patch is about 4cm wide, red, and stings / burns to the touch, also can be felt rubbing on clothes. There's also some patchy red on my side and back.

Have you got any other symptoms or been in contact with anyone who has? An unexplained rash is a relatively common Covid symptom.

Thank you for replying. Does the covid rash look like this? Thing is, I'm pretty sure I've already had covid... contact with numerous diagnoses cases in March, was ill for three weeks then... all classic symptoms.

And my son did have a weird rash and illness at the same time. Now I don't feel ill, no fever.... have hardly been anywhere in last few weeks.

I do get hives/ have sensitive skin but those itch and look different.

That could be a herald patch in your photo.
