Telibarb · 13/09/2020 14:13

So pleased to see I'm not the only one to loathe grey decor/furnishings. shudder

The Beatles are very overrated. As is coffee.

I loathe:
talent shows apart from Strictly;
soulless gardens (fake grass, no planting): perversely, given my previous "hate", gardening;
all rainbows apart from actual ones in the sky (they're here, they're there, they're everyfuckingwhere);
pronouns in email signatures/on badges;
social media;
false eyelashes, especially ones more than 1cm long;
stone fruits, apart from mango;
any yoghurt that's not Greek yoghurt (especially "Greek style yoghurt");
people who litter;
the British climate;
Billy Bragg.

Spinningdot · 13/09/2020 14:39

Agree with foreplay. It's just a thing to get out of the way before the real thing and it's boring.
Agree with salted caramel everything. It's the new raspberry and white chocolate, which still makes an occasional appearance.
And I think the Beatles were crap. I hate how it's almost sacrilegious to dislike them in some circles and slagging them off is akin to blasphemy. In fact, any sort of reverence and deference afforded to any famous person I find pretty irritating, so in that respect, social status & fame are overrated.
Humans, just call it humans. Humans are overrated. And humans who think dogs are overrated reinforces my belief that humans are overrated.
Except for tiny wee humans (ie children). I think they're awesome. Pity they turn into adults.

Spinningdot · 13/09/2020 14:41

& yeah, gin is crap. Horrible perfume in a glass.

wingsandstrings · 13/09/2020 15:27

Cornwall - wildly expensive, very similar scenery to Donegal or Brittany but not as pretty (or cheap), takes forever and a day to get there because of the roads, everything packed when you do get there unless you visit out of season. Literally no idea why people go there for summer hols when there are equally beautiful, emptier and cheaper bits of coastline in Britain.

wingsandstrings · 13/09/2020 15:34

or maybe French dining? Sickeningly rich food served by grumpy staff, and very same-y because they are keen on the cultural purity of their food. I do love France though, so certainly not complaining if I can afford another holiday there.

IamPickleRick · 13/09/2020 18:27

100% agree on Cornwall. The drive alone... It’s like driving to fucking Mordor.

Twinmama32 · 14/09/2020 19:48

Twitter and hen parties can’t see the point of either!

Lego because you build it and thats it.... all that money and effort for a dust collector.

Only if you buy and build the preset models. Lego is supposed to be a creative toy, that kids can build anything with. It's a great toy, if used 'properly'
Namechange2p2p · 16/09/2020 09:21

Yes well aware of that and I am referring to the preset models which my son is obsessed with.....

SisterAgatha · 16/09/2020 13:43

I agree with lego sets. You used to just buy the blocks and now they are effectively 3D puzzles. I wouldn’t say one way is proper and one isn’t though. Surely only playing something “properly” is the opposite of creative Grin

BewilderedDoughnut · 16/09/2020 13:49

Having children.

Zenithbear · 16/09/2020 13:52
