Cities and towns
Musicals
Reality tv
Nightclubs

However, I am clearly unusual in loving Nando’s - probably because our nearest one is about an hour’s drive away so it’s a rare treat!

After school activities
Prosecco
Special School

ToDoListAddict · 01/09/2020 11:05

Some of these things I can't live without!

But definitely agree with Disneyworld/Disneyland
DHs family wanted a big joint family holiday there and it cost us thousands to go & I just feel like it was such a waste of money.

Adele. Her music is whiney, boring crap and now everyone is buzzing over her weight loss but I suppose going through a divorce and losing millions upon millions of pounds in settlement would cause you to lose a few lbs.*

I mentioned Adele upthread. I quite agree with all the above too. And her music is self indulgent whingeing.

Sorry, I must have missed it! Very glad to find someone else who agrees, most people recoil in horror if I mention it! Grin
MarieIVanArkleStinks · 01/09/2020 11:18

One in defence of salted caramel, hot tubs and Stevie Nicks! I could wallow in all three Grin

Real Italian Prosecco is divine. That hideous sugary stuff that's sold under that name in the UK isn't Prosecco, and it's gruesome.

Another +1 for email pronoun signatures, and the depressing pronouncement that they're here to stay. Possibly. But not in mine!

@DarkMintChocolate
Yes to that.
Eating an oyster is like sucking phlegm off the back of a tortoise shell. (Frank Skinners’s assertion – and mine too).

Has anyone mentioned the "magic" of Christmas?

Truffle oil

Chicchicchicchiclana · 01/09/2020 14:39

Agree about truffle oil! Embarrassed myself by making a fuss about a smell of gas and asking the staff could there be a gas leak? in my local pizza place recently. Turned out someone at the next table was eating a pizza with truffle oil on it Confused - to me it smelled disgusting!

ReluctantEarlyRiser · 01/09/2020 14:49

Sex, family 'holidays', music festivals/gigs (I hate standing up, camping and annoying twats).

4Naan · 01/09/2020 14:50

Work
Having a "career"
Being busy all the time
Routine
Fitting in
Fitness... Being fit is nice, the problem is you then have to keep doing the exercise at least 3 times a week for the rest of your life, and if you take a couple of weeks off you're back to square one.
Being houseproud
Virtue-signalling frugality, as someone mentioned upthread
Popularity/social status

All these things are fine and good to a certain extent, but people become so obsessive and rigid about them that it can suck all the joy out of life.

Also all the usual crap: Pandora, Your sex is on fire, GOT, alcohol, sun holidays, springtime etc

feistyoneyouare · 01/09/2020 14:51

Afternoon tea. Yawn.

Toothsil · 01/09/2020 14:56

A Sunday roast. I mean, I like them, but I'm not one of the people who have them every single Sunday and I don't get the whole big deal that's made about them.
