However, you can get cheaper, less obtrusive wank fodder that fits in a bedside drawer.

I think that’s a beautiful painting but I personally would not ask my parents to purchase me a portrait of a woman having a wank. Still, different families have different boundaries...!

I am scarred as my father had a line drawing of a nude in our house and it went around the school that we had porn up on the walls

Get a life. It's a tasteful nude by a noted artist. Hardly in the porn catagory and not page three that you all seem to think. Perhaps you've all spent to much time thinking about Mumsnet's two obsessions; oral and anal sex, to spend time looking at works of art.

You look at a painting like this as sheer lush colour and form. It's well worth the price and the wall space, I reckon. Much better than most of what's hung on most walls on most houses.

If OPs DH loves it and wants it, he should have it. You don't turn 50 every day.

Yes, he thinks I should not have put it was from his mother as it looks weird. "It is weird" was my reply.

We already have a tasteful nude oil painting (bottom on display) and the midwives were a bit when in was sick with baby and they visited in my bedroom ....

I can see it's nice, but the red reminds me of periods too. I am so weird I know.
