Vbac - induction via balloon

Hi all, so I had a c-section previously due to breech baby. This time round (I’m currently 34 weeks) I’m torn between an elective c-section or a balloon induction. I had a great experience with first section just a long sore recovery but not put off the surgery . I’m just thinking to look after my elder child as well a vbac might be worthwhile to at least try.
Has anyone had the balloon induction and could tell me how it works and how long they leave you in labour for etc? I know there’s only a certain time frame window to dilate and labour otherwise it’s down to theatre for emergency section. Thanks x

I’ve had two emergency c sections, second one I went 12 days over and was induced with a ballon. Very painful and unpleasant and ended in an emergency c section anyway!! If I could I’d go back and opt for a planned csection. I would have saved myself a lot of pain, stress and waiting about! Good luck with it all. Whatever you choose will be the right decision for you.

I researched this during my second pregnancy as I had an EMCS first time so wouldn’t be able to have the usual induction.

It’s a resounding ‘no’ from me. It was supposedly very painful and not especially effective.

I just had a bog standard VBAC and went into spontaneous labour at 41 weeks.

I felt invincible the following morning (Friday), compared to how I felt after the section (also done for breech presentation). I was doing the school run on foot by Monday morning.

For me, it was definitely the right choice. But I did live up five flights of stairs, no lift and there was a huge hill to go up and down for the school run.
