Has anyone been recently? What are the queues and parking situation like? I have young kids and I’m planning a visit in the next few days so want to plan properly. Thanks!

It was a while ago (about a year) since I last went and I got the train. When DH and I tried to go a couple of years ago it was impossible to park, we got there late morning and there were no spaces left at all. Didn’t help that some people had taken up enough room for two cars with one either 🙄. If you’re driving, I’d get there early.

Last time I went, the queue for tickets and entry was no more than five minutes.

You need to book. Parking is really difficult so not much change of a space after 11ish at the weekends.

You have to book a time slot in advance so sometimes a small queue to get into the gardens around these time slots. Car park has been busy recently since they turned the parking on Kew Rd into cycle lane but I’ve never seen it full, tends to be busier in the morning. There is also parking on one side of the road around Kew Green (just don’t park on residents side).
If you are planning the Children’s Garden it needs to be booked in advance. It’s still not all open, last time I was there (about a week ago) treetop walkway was still shut and palm house had limited route etc..

You need to book well before hand. They have timed entries. The parking situation is not great. I would park much further away and walk. Or take the Tube. It’s a short walk from KG station.

Though I’ve never been bank hols weekend so can’t comment on parking then

Parking in Kew is a nightmare. I wouldn't consider using the car for a moment.
