We use the same system as in 1928 (with a few minor tweaks). MPs are elected in each constituency to the House of Commons. The largest Party forms the Government and provides the prime Minister. The other Parties are deemed Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.
Currently as a country we have two major problems to manage. The C19 Pandemic and Brexit. Both are vitally important to get right. There is much criticism of the Government. I join that criticism.
It is said that the Government does not comprise of the very cleverest people. Is it the ‘B’ team?
The Opposition though is even worse I have heard extraordinarily little about alternative strategies or other ideas for improving the conditions under which we live.

Neither have they taken a “Statesman like” opportunity to endorse and support publicly the actions of the Government.

They are not ‘here’, they are absent.
Are you happy with the politicians that we have nationally and locally?

Keir Starmer only became Labour leader at the beginning of April by which point we were firmly into lockdown and nothing was running as planned. Have you read the news though or watched PMQs at all? They have been questioning decision made by the government and pointing out flaws in their various plans.

KS became leader of a well established Party. They should have had policies worked out. At least in sketch form for the leader to adopt and adapt.
He has a team that does the research and looks for snags. They had to dump the old Corbyn stuff but surely there has always been another faction with more sensible alternatives.

His PMQs are just 5 mins of fame. He is a barrister, he spent years developing skills that merely enable him to pick holes in what people say. Have you never watched a real trial or seen court room dramas where a smart arse brief makes even honest people look stupid. That is what they do and KS is very good at it.
A Prime Minister in waiting should be better than that. He needs to prove that he has ideas and can formulate plans. After 12 months planning and in office he is weak, very weak.

After the 10 years of colourless party dogma I hope for a vision.
