I want to go sit under a tree in the middle of nowhere and not think about the virus and the future.

I'm sick of the virus, the desperate economy, my job worries, my kids futures being shot to hell.

I want to go live in a field and never see any news.

I don't do social media apart from mn, before anyone tells me to turn it off.

I’ll join you.

Veiaola · 29/08/2020 08:55

I have been limiting my news for weeks due to other stuff going on at home, just can't deal with it right now. I would be lost without my garden it is my sanity. I don't have a tree though.

ssd · 29/08/2020 08:59

A nice quiet hill with a tree blowing in the breeze, and soft green grass to sit on.

Anyone can join me, just don't expect lots of chat and big discussions, I'm done with those.

Me too
I have a few trees, you can join me @veiaola

cheeseislife8 · 29/08/2020 09:02

I'll join you too! I've been limiting watching the news too. Your tree sounds like the perfect spot!

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 29/08/2020 09:03

Can I come with you? my life is missing peace...

Eckhart · 29/08/2020 09:03

You might find it overcrowded under trees on hills at the moment. I'm sure you're far from alone in feeling like this!

iklboo · 29/08/2020 09:04

Me too, please. Just quiet contemplation.

Katharinablum · 29/08/2020 09:35

Feel exactly the same.
I'm currently in our caravan in the dales. Love coming here, it's our bolthole.
After almost a full day of relentless rain we managed to get out for a walk.
After a coffee dp and ds went back to the caravan, I carried on walking, on my own, just me and our dog, trees, hills, a lot of sheep, the odd cottage, farm building, wind blowing Bliss....

JoyceByersWasRight · 29/08/2020 09:39

I'm with you OP, YADNBU Sad

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 29/08/2020 10:04

I haven’t watched any news since March. I avoid it. I’m sick and tired of it being all pervasive and laden with gloom. I just would like to enjoy some things again.

oreshina · 29/08/2020 10:10

Gave up all forms of news in april/May. Ignorance is sometimes bliss. Information overload is not helpful for anyone. The dales sounds idyllic...enjoy

FredaFrogspawn · 29/08/2020 10:13

I was thinking a small, uninhabited island.

ClaudiaAndTheCauldron · 29/08/2020 10:16

@FredaFrogspawn

That sounds blissful Smile

I love watching the sea.

squashyhat · 29/08/2020 10:16

Do something today that you really enjoy. I love live music and have found out that one of my favourite bands is doing a free open air gig today. I shall take my waterproof and wellies and just dance and forget everything else for the afternoon.

nosswith · 29/08/2020 10:16

YANBU and I have a few trees near me that are large and offer shelter.

Please come back in 2024 though to vote.

RoseyOldCrow · 29/08/2020 10:22

Sounds heavenly, @ssd!
I'll bring an everlasting picnic of delicious food & drink, it'll always be within reach & will never run out of our favourite things.

Ishihtzuknot · 29/08/2020 10:51

I’d love this, I’m sick of the news and other people now. I’ll bring cake and alcohol Grin

Livebythecoast · 29/08/2020 10:54

Can I join you please? An everlasting picnic sounds lovely @RoseyOldCrow Smile.
Everything is so depressing isn't it? Seems like there is nothing to look forward to Sad.
I've been fortunate to be working throughout (NHS) so feel guilty feeling so down when so many have lost their jobs but it's been so challenging with the ever changing rules/protocols etc - it's taken the pleasure out of my job and I totally understand patients fears and frustrations.

I'm lucky to live by the sea so even on a windy cold day it's quite exhilarating going for a walk by the coast so if you get fed up of your tree, you're welcome to join me at the beach Wink

Mindymomo · 29/08/2020 10:58

I am the same, constantly worrying about everything. Luckily I have my husband, 2 adult sons and a dog that bring normality to our lives. Looking forward to a week near the sea with lots of walking and empty spaces in a couple of weeks. Wish I could turn off news.

tsmainsqueeze · 29/08/2020 18:55

I am going to the sea very soon for a long weekend , i am looking forward to being on the beach , don't care if it rains .
I will pick up a few shells and put them in my pocket like i always do and i plan on eating fish and chips in my car whilst watching the sea and i will not think of the virus once !

ssd · 29/08/2020 20:03

@tsmainsqueeze, fab!
And same to everyone planning an escape, even if just in our dreams...

On a caravan holiday 2 years ago we did indeed see the Shangri-la you describe..
We walked about an hour- laden with a picnic and got there..
It was on a golf course on the other side of a huge fence!!
We were gutted!
We had to sit on some rocks on the beach instead!!
Just my bloody luck!

SaltyAndFresh · 29/08/2020 20:08

I just feel so pissed off that the extent of this could have been avoided if it wasn't for the denial back in January and February.
