These threads keep popping up asking if the poster is the ONLY one still following xyz rules of social distancing and always, always, include somewhere in there "because I don't want to get covid" and/or "give covid to my elderly parents/toddler/immuno compromised goldfish"
Firstly no obviously you are not the only person in the entire UK still doing whatever you are doing. You might be in the smaller subsection of the population still strictly adhering to rules/guidance (who even knows anymore) but that's your decision, crack on. Just don't justify it by saying you don't want to catch covid as if the rest of us are out there licking the rims of glasses left on the pub table in an attempt to get a week off work.
It sounds so smug and as if you are the only person who cares about their health and that of their loved ones, whereas in reality nobody wants to get covid, but those who are going out and about a bit more either have no choice due to their job and/or personal circumstances, or have made a measured decision based on facts and their own level of comfort/risk/health (including mental health) rather than thinking "fuck grandma shes had a good innings and I want a Costa coffee."
