Indeed job does not require CV?

Hi,
I have gone to apply for a job on Indeed.
When I clicked 'apply' - it said 'CV not required for this role'. But underneath it says 'Attach cover letter'.

Does that happen often? I have never heard of not sending a CV but this is my first time applying through Indeed also.

Probably a fishing ad.

What job are you applying for?

killerofmen · 27/08/2020 20:27

I would never apply through indeed if I can avoid it. If you can find the employers website use that as there might be an application form that hasn't been pulled through into the indeed listing.

As a PP said, try and find the company website and apply through there rather than indeed.

I’d never apply through indeed, we’ve attempted to recruit through indeed a couple of times and the sheer volume of rubbish applications that comes through would put me off adding my CV to it - indeed makes it so easy to apply to jobs that people do it without thinking, any genuine applications just get lost in my experience.

When I go on the website, there is no job advert there. It is advertised on another job website which has a 'apply on company site' button but when I click it, it sends to me to Indeed :/

So there’s no job title, description, area, hours or salary? If so, it looks like there is no job, they just want your details to add to their database. Either that or its an old advert.

I agree with others who say they’re a poor company.

I came across something similar years ago. It turned out to be a dodgy door to door selling thing. Thankfully someone tipped me off before I went for the "interview". However that was a good few years ago and in Ireland.

Fassspo · 27/08/2020 20:59

@PerfidiousAlbion there is a job title, description, pay, days and hours to work etc. on there and it is a genuine company as they have a website.
The advert is very detailed.

@purplecorkheart it is a company within my area, the job is an actual job that will be temporary part-time and not like a recruitment agency or whatever

In that case it sounds like the vacancy has closed but indeed hasn't updated.

Fassspo · 27/08/2020 21:41

@killerofmen it closes 15th September and was posted 2 days ago
